Organikian Urban Farm and National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program RFO12 (NUPAP12) Journey Through Manama Food Forest --

Organikian and Nupap recently embarked on an enlightening tour of Manama Food Forest, a remarkable permaculture farm renowned for its vast collection of exotic fruit trees and native Philippine trees. This brief yet impactful excursion offered a unique opportunity to appreciate the biodiversity of the region and understand the principles of sustainable farming.

Manama Food Forest serves as a living example of how permaculture can thrive in harmony with nature. Covering a significant area, the farm is located in Kidapawan City, home to an impressive variety of exotic fruit trees and soon to be a learning site of agriculture Agricultural Training Institute - Region 12

Upon arrival, Organikian and Nupap staff were greeted by Gabriel Razø Razø and razo a proud owner of Manama. Also, we've been welcome by vibrant colors and fragrant scents emanating from the orchards, piquing their curiosity and excitement.

Meeting and Consultation with Future Scientists-

A meeting took place at Organikian Urban Farm with a group of aspiring scientists from Science High School Soccsksargen Region Campus : Christian, Franz, and Joshua.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss their innovative project focused on microgreens.
Guiding them in their research and development is Professor Jefrey Bagasbas , who serves as the project adviser.

Kian, chief farmer of Organikian shared his expertise and mentorship towards advancing their knowledge and practical skills in this area of study.

The short tour at Organikian Urban Farm was a success, providing valuable insights and inspiration for participants of the "Training of Trainers on Farm Business School" Batch I led by Jayson Villanueva Abang and Joseph Simpao of Agricultural Training Institute - Region 12 . By equipping these individuals with new knowledge and practical skills, the initiative aims to enhance agricultural practices within their municipalities (community) ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector.

The interactions and learnings from this tour are expected to have a long-lasting impact on the participants and the farmers they train, encouraging a culture of innovation and sustainability in agriculture.
