Rabies Awareness Lecture-Forum and Short-Video Showing for Junior HS and Senior HS Students of Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School in collaboration with our City Health Office as mandated by the Local Government of La Carlota City headed by Dr. Rex Jalando-on thru our City Veterinary Office.

Kudos and our whole-hearted appreciation to Dr. Erle Arbado, Dr. Rowena Golez, Mr. Donrich Magbanua and Mr. Eugene Aguilar together with our enthusiastic teachers and club advisers whom gave us their time and opportunity for us to highlight this timely advocacy.

May this be a jumpstarter for us to establish a scientific and research-based information and assessment education to our student-body that they’ll be properly enlightened of the different facts, information and awareness towards Rabies and its aspects.

Our City Veterinary Office Impounding Unit appreciates the concern and empathy of Ms. Mary Ann Ignacio of Barangay Batuan for adopting 2 of our impounded and surrendered dog which she named~ Blacky (male, black) and Toty (male, black).

Blacky and Toty had their Rabies vaccines updated together with their deworming and ectoparasite prescription before released.

Thank you very much Ms. Ignacio for your concern and empathy towards these homeless fur-friends!

Our City Veterinary Office Impounding Unit appreciates the concern and kindness of 2 individuals (1 from Barangay Dos and 1 from Barangay Cubay) for adopting 2 of our newly surrendered dog and bitch which they named thereafter~ Gorigori (male, white) and Kati (female, white).

Gorigori and Kati had their Rabies vaccines updated together with their deworming and ectoparasite prescription before released.

La Carlota City Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Carlos Ceasar C. Catabas together with Exec. Asst. Mr. Jose R. Parcon leads the dispersal and distribution of 3 heads piglet and 200 heads free-range chickens (mixed Peruvian, Kaber & Sasso) to Hacienda Paz Farmers-Workers Association led by Mr. Joseph Vertucio.

These livestock dispersal is an initiative of our very own City Mayor, Dr. Rex R. Jalandoon and Agriculture Committee Chairman, Councilor Richard Sebastian S. Benedicto.

May this be an avenue to enlighten the livelihood of the members of the above-mentioned association and as their project be in success would eventually allow others to also commit to the cause and be the next beneficiaries in line.

The date chosen has a special meaning. On this date, but wayback in 1895, Sir Louis Pasteur, the French scientist whom created the Rabies Vaccine, passed away. His discoveries in different fields of natural sciences and his contribution to public health allowed to save countless lives since then.

Today marks the 16th World Rabies Day, September 28, 2022.
This year's theme, RABIES: ONE HEALTH, ZERO DEATHS will highlight the connection of the environment to both humans and animals.

One Health.
The CoViD19 Pandemic has shown the stark vulnerabilities of health systems but it also demonstrated what collaboration across sectors can be achieved.
Rabies control programmes offer great example for One Health implementation and the structures and trust that underpin these are crucial for other zoonotic diseases, including those that are pandemic-prone.

Zero Deaths.
The world has the vaccines, medicines, tools, and technologies to break the cycle of one of the oldest diseases.
It is critical to work with stakeholders, champions and people at community, local, national, and global levels to rebuild and strengthen health systems and rabies control programs. By collaborating and joining forces, encouraging communities and committing to sustain dog vaccination, rabies can be eliminated.

A Local Government Unit of La Carlota City's initiative in providing our community with quality Native Chicken bred, hatched and reared in our City Livestock Demo-Farm located at La Carlota City College Compound, Barangay Cubay spearheaded by La Carlota City Mayor, Dr. Rex Jalandoon and City Veterinarian, Dr. Carlos Ceasar Catabas.
