This once playful and enthusiastic dog suddenly became lethargic and weak. His concerned family took him to a vet clinic and after thorough examination, a mass was discovered on his spleen. The dog's case was referred to us for a specialized surgical procedure called splenectomy (removal of spleen). The procedure was necessary for his health and wellbeing. While spleen plays an important role in filtering blood and fighting infections, dogs can still live healthy lives without it. Thankfully, everything from preparation to post-operation went smoothly. The team conducts regular follow-ups too to ensure a successful recovery 🙂

Mika, a K-9 dog had a recurrent mammary tumor, prompting the head surgeon to perform another mammectomy. In addition to the mammectomy, a bilateral axillary lymphadenectomy (removal of lymph nodes) and an ovariohysterectomy (spay) were also conducted to prevent the tumor from recurring. The procedure required the surgeon's swiftness and mastery, thankfully it went smoothly. Teamwork is a plus!

Mika is now recovering well. Not only is this dog highly intelligent, but she has also proven herself to be incredibly brave in fighting for her life.

Looking good during a follow up check-up after being confined in the clinic due to leptospirosis :)

Did you know that leptospirosis is a serious bacterial infection that can affect dogs? It's spread through contact with contaminated water or soil, often carrying the bacteria from the urine of infected animals.

Symptoms can vary but may include fever, vomiting, muscle pain, and decreased appetite. Leptospirosis can also pose risks to humans.

The good news? Leptospirosis is preventable with a vaccine. Keep your furry friends safe by scheduling a vaccination today. Let's ensure a healthy, happy life for our pets!

Ice Cream, was in serious trouble when he was brought to the clinic. He was vomiting for almost a week already. The sweet and fun-loving dog became less active. Upon examination, doctors noticed a bulge on his throat. Imaging confirmed that something was stuck in his throat! The culprit? A bone lodged in his esophagus. With skilled hands and determined hearts, our veterinary team sprang into action. He was swiftly prepped for surgery to free him from the bone's grip. After what felt like an eternity, the bone, which already perforated his esophagus, was safely removed. Ice cream’s family was relieved as they awaited news of his recovery. Thanks to the expertise of our team and the resilience of Ice, he emerged from surgery like the brave trooper he is, wagging his tail as if to say, "I'm okay now”.

This serves as a stark reminder of the risks bones can pose to our furry companions. Let's be cautious about what we give our furry friends to chew on. Your pet's health and well-being are worth more than any treat. Let's keep our furry friends safe and happy!

A kitten referred to us was born with atresia ani. Atresia ani occurs during fetal development when the a**l opening fails to form correctly. As a result, affected kittens are born with a closed or partially closed a**s, hindering the passage of stool. The inability to eliminate waste properly leads to distended abdomen, discomfort and distress.
Our veterinary team performed enterotomy and anoplasty to correct the anomaly and create a functional a**l opening. This kitten faced this challenge with flying colors and is now recovering well.
This is not just a tale of early health challenge but a story of triumph as well. With love, care, and the right veterinary support, even the tiniest paws can overcome life's hurdles.

Meet Mighty, the true epitome of strength and resilience! This lively geriatric dog faced a tough battle against a cervical tumor, but with her indomitable spirit, she triumphed over adversity!

Mighty, a constant source of joy to her fur family, suddenly faced an unexpected hurdle when her usual routine took a detour. Severe constipation for five days raised concern, and despite being spayed with no prior history of illness, Mighty's health took an unexpected turn.

Ever heard of perineal hernia in dogs? It's a condition where muscles around the pelvic area weaken, leading to the displacement of abdominal organs. This can cause discomfort, difficulty in defecation, and potential complications if left untreated. If your dog is scooting or struggling to potty, it might be time for a vet check!

What to Look For:
-Swelling near the tail or a**s
-Difficulty in pooping or straining
-Scooting or dragging hindquarters

All those signs mentioned above were noted during this beloved dog's check up. This dog suffered for months already and surgery was recommended to address the problem effectively. A meticulous procedure, Internal Obturator Transposition Herniorrhaphy with synthetic mesh, was performed to strengthen and repair the weakened muscles, restoring the pet's comfort and quality of life. Weeks later, he was back to his playful self! The perineal hernia surgery had not only alleviated his discomfort but also brought a renewed sense of joy to the entire family. His tail wagged with enthusiasm, echoing the success of his healing process.

Today, let's shed light on a common condition – Canine Splenomegaly.

This is a case referred to us for exploratory laparotomy. Signs and symptoms noted were lethargy, anorexia, loss of appetite, abdominal discomfort and bloating. Splenomegaly, the enlargement of the spleen was the culprit of the dog's deteriorating health. Swift action was essential, leading us to recommend a canine splenectomy for our dear patient's well-being. Prognosis is excellent, and she's regaining her strength each day. We couldn't be happier with the positive outcome!

If you have any concerns about your pet's health or suspect splenomegaly, reach out to us at 493-6365 / 492 0978 or send us a message. We're here to answer your questions and schedule a consultation. We believe that informed pet owners make the best advocates for their furry companions. :)

Hey everyone, we want to share a cautionary tale from our beloved patient, Saffy.

A few weeks ago, Saffy wasn't feeling herself. She had a high fever, was lethargic, jaundiced, and lost her appetite. She tested positive for Leptospirosis and she was referred to us for treatment. She was confined for days ☹

Leptospirosis is a potentially serious bacterial infection that dogs can get from contaminated water. Even a seemingly harmless puddle during a rainy day walk can pose a risk.

But here's the good news – with quick action and excellent veterinary care, she is now on the road to recovery! 🙌💪 She's responding well to antibiotics, and her energy is slowly coming back.

We share Saffy’s story not to scare you, but to remind everyone about the importance of:

1️⃣ Regular Vet Check-Ups: Early detection and treatment can make all the difference. Don't skip those annual vet visits!

2️⃣ Vaccination: Speak to your vet about vaccinations, including leptospirosis, to protect your furry friends.

3️⃣ Water Safety: Be cautious during rainy seasons, and try to avoid letting your pets drink from puddles or stagnant water sources.

4️⃣ Hygiene: Wash your hands after handling your pets, especially if they've been in contact with potentially contaminated water.

We're sharing her journey with you because we believe in raising awareness and keeping our beloved pets safe and healthy. Let's look out for our furry companions like the family they are. Saffy is proof that with love and timely care, our pets can overcome even the toughest challenges.
