⚠️ ALWAYS....ALWAYS BRAKE FOR ANIMALS.

This was the xray of Unknown cat, who was later named Luna by our good samaritan client. Luna was seen by our client on the streets barely moving his hindlegs and was having laboured breathing. He was suspected to be ran over by a motorcycle. Luna was brought at the clinic where xray and blood tests were performed. Upon xray, Luna had Diaphragmatic Hernia.

Diaphragmatic Hernia is a condition in which a break in the diaphragm allows protrusion of abdominal organs into the chest. (we can see that the intestines had already caused protrusion on the xray thus resulting in laboured breathing.) In cats, automobile-related trauma is a common cause of diaphragmatic hernia. Surgical repair of the hernia is the only treatment.

However, despite all efforts to save Luna, he did not make it. We hope that Luna felt, even in his final moments, the love and care that our client and our team had given him. We pray for Luna to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully. 🙏🌈

This is a constant reminder, please brake for animals, STRAYS ARE WORTH SAVING / BRAKING FOR.

Dermatophytosis is a fungal infection of the skin and hair. Transmission is by direct contact with an infected animal or infected objects. 🐕🐩🐈🐈‍⬛

The most important pathogens for dermatophytosis are:
✔️Microsporum canis
✔️Trichophyton mentagrophytes
✔️Microsporum gypseum

A wood’s lamp 🔦🔦🔦 is a tool used to find Microsporum canis infected hairs. Positive hairs have an apple green glow/ fluoresce.

Treatment is needed for severe conditions.

Here we have our patient who is positive for Dermatophytosis. Note the apple green glow that can be seen using the wood’s lamp.

Have a safe new year everyone!!! 🐶🐱🙏

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀!

We know the excitement of the new year can be overwhelming for our furbabies. Let's keep our pets safe and sound during the New Year's Eve! Here are some tips to remember:

🐾 Keep pets indoors.
🐾 Provide a quiet place for them to hide.
🐾 Give them distractions: provide treats, toys, and soothing music.
🐾 In case of an emergency, take your pet to the nearest veterinarian immediately.

Let's make this New Year's Eve a happy and safe one for all!

🙏🙏🙏

🙏🙏🙏

PLEASE DO NOT USE FIRECRACKERS TO WELCOME THE NEW YEAR. Please think of the animals. 🙏🏻

From Animal Ethics:
https://www.animal-ethics.org/how-fireworks-harm-nonhuman-animals/

“Many urban dogs suffer negative symptoms from the explosions of firecrackers. Common reactions are freezing or paralysis, uncontrolled attempts to escape and hide, and tremors. Other more intense signs may also be present, such as salivation, tachycardia, intense vocalizations, urination or defecation, increased activity, hyper alertness and gastrointestinal disorders. All these signs are indicative of great discomfort.

It has been pointed out that the reaction of dogs to the sound of fireworks is similar to post-traumatic stress in human animals. However, this effect could be much more harmful in dogs, because they do not have the ability to rationalize their anxiety, or the possibility of an immediate cognitive response that allows them to respond to their fear. It is likely they experience a deeper and more intense form of terror. This is in addition to the noise phobia which can be greater in some dogs due to personality differences. It is important to keep in mind that in the first years of their lives, dogs are especially vulnerable to the development of phobias, and exposing them to sounds like fireworks contributes to future fear responses that they might not otherwise have had. It has been estimated that one in two dogs has significant fear reactions to fireworks.”

Para sa kanila, para sa kalikasan at para sa sarili nating kaligtasan at kalusugan, huwag na tayong gumamit ng paputok.
