Meet Macey, she was diagnosed Positive for Blood Parasite last January 9, 2025. She was confined here at Rare pet care veterinary services for 4 days and we are so happy to announce that Macey survived this illness. Macey was pick-up by her FurParent and went home HAPPY and HEALTHY. 😍

What is Blood Parasites?

Blood parasites are bacterial infections that can affect dogs, causing serious and potentially life-threatening disease. They can be transmitted by ticks, fleas, and other vectors.

Some of the symptom's includes: Fever, Runny nose and eyes, Loss of appetite, Hemorrhages, Anemia, & Fatigue.

A veterinarian can diagnose blood parasites using a complete blood count (CBC), serum chemical analysis, and other laboratory tests.

𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐬 𝐚 𝐂-𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐬?

Dog pregnancies last around 63 to 65 days, which can differ from the actual dates of breeding by up to 10 days based on the date of conception. This can make it a little confusing when predicting when your pup is ready to give birth.

A Cesarean section, or C-section, is the surgical removal of puppies from the uterus. It is performed as an emergency (not optional) procedure when the mother dog is having difficulty delivering the puppies naturally.

Most dogs should be able to deliver puppies without a C-section, although some breeds (mostly those with a large head and narrow pelvis) are more likely to require one. This includes English, American, and French Bulldogs, as well as Boston Terriers and Pekingese.

1. 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞

📌 Accomplished by government or private veterinarians
📌 VHC is only valid for 3 days after issuance. Make sure to apply for shipping permit within the validity period

2. 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬

📌 Make sure that the front page of the record has the name of pet, breed, species, age/birthdate, s*x, marking, name of owner.
📌 The vaccination records should also show the pet’s name, date, weight, vaccine sticker or rabies vaccine used, manufacturer, lot and serial no, and the signature of veterinarian with their license no., date of expiry, TIN no., and PTR.
