⚠️ Be wary of engorged female ticks because they look for hiding places such as in between rocks, pots, and cabinets or carpets!
These eggs will hatch in at least 2 weeks and you’ll find these really tiny crawling tick larvae..
🩺 Dr’s reminder: tick-borne disease is very common here in our locality. Please do watch out for the silent signs of disease in your furfam!

Most people think all Demodectic mange affects the whole body - but this belief is incorrect.
Some are like this patient’s..
✅ Mild itching only (they don’t cry when itching and can sleep well)
✅ Bald spots (not whole body!)
Most cases of Demodex in adult animals root from compromised immunologic conditions, so please do be watchful. 🙏🏼

We mostly see worm eggs but sometimes the immature forms are the diagnostic appearance in the laboratory.
⚠️ Careful about threadworms! These can cross the human skin if you handle or are exposed to an infected cat’s f***s!
🌸 Remember:
Regular deworming interrupts the life cycle so that even if your dogs and cats do get infected with worms, then deworming will prevent serious and complicated disease.

Very tiny stones and blood clots, but already enough to totally block the urethra and its sphincter, causing us to notice our furfam urinate with visible effort and discomfort. 🥺🙏🏼
(Male dogs and cats have really narrow urethra compared to females which put them at higher risk for obstruction.)
Some of our doctors’ tips:
✅ Provide fresh and clean water and make sure they like to drink -
✅ Because if they’re not much into drinking, then WET FOOD DIET becomes a must!
✅ Water fountains work! 💖
✅ Monitor urination preferences - some hold their urine in when inside the cage

Because it allows their freshly-functional lungs to breathe air, expand, contract, and empty any fluids that are no longer supposed to be there. We’ve recently had more than usual cases of Rabies suspects and sadly do not always hear from the pet owners about the progress of the patients. So please for your own awareness, these are some FACTS about Rabies disease: - it is NOT INBORN - is is a viral disease that is passed by the entry of SALIVA into the blood stream - dogs and cats CAN STILL RECOGNIZE you and will not always bite you - there is a PARALYTIC form of the disease. Some just gradually get weaker and paralyzed then die. (They don’t always go “crazy”) - proper vaccination is very effective! It saves lives! - the Philippine Rabies Law requires once a year vaccination because the disease is sadly still endemic. We can change this if we work together! 🙏🏼 Again, Rabies is NOT inborn. But is FATAL. Be aware. Take care. 🙏🏼

Our 2023 ended with so much happening on our last day of duty: - 4 dogs diagnosed with canine heartworm disease (3 of which with moderate to heavy microfilaria load) - our smallest pyometra-ovh patient didn’t completely recover and crossed the 🌈 🕊️ - a dog with 12-hour long dystocia comes in with living fetus inside (birthed 2 puppies earlier in the day), unresponsive to parenteral calcium supplementation and oxytocin, and limited budget - a dog profusely bleeding after castration at home without anesthetics and ligation of the spermatic cord Thus we’re still here and reminded to keep doing better in helping you protect, care, treat, and have a good quality of life for your furfam. #prevention #awareness #diagnosis #management HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎊 🩺 Edit: This is a video of the heartworm microfilaria found in a drop of blood. 🥺

Watching our CS-born patients return for routine preventive visits is one of the best ever! 💕 Did you know? Many pet owners still do not know that the earliest dose of DEWORMING is actually at age 2 weeks of newborn puppies! Why? Some worms can be passed via the placenta and mammary glands of their momma. Momma’s first sniff! These two newborn pups were born via Cesarean Section today because they were too big! Their sire is a Siberian Husky and this momma dog is a Shih-mix. (Oh yes.. The furfam had no idea that this could’ve been possible.) And thus because the fetal cranium simply won’t fit through this momma’s birth canal.. Today momma H’s water bag broke and still no pup started to come out 4 hours later. 🩺 The xray exam is really useful in measuring the fetal cranium in proportion to the dam’s birth canal. 🌸 The team is very happy to say all pups are happily crying - and so is this momma dog missing her babies! (Kudos to the furmily for their quick action! 🙏🏼) #emergency #cesareansection
Watch the cesarean section of this mommy! 🤗 🩺 It has been 5 hours since her water bag broke and this mommy showed no signs of pushing at all. Lucky her furfam are quick to act and decide, all 6 puppies AND mommy were saved. 🫶🏼
