𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞?

Heat stroke occurs when an animal's body temperature rises to dangerous levels, typically above 104°F (40°C). Unlike humans, dogs and cats can't sweat to cool themselves down efficiently. Instead, they rely on panting and external cooling methods.

𝘾𝒂𝙪𝒔𝙚𝒔 𝒐𝙛 𝙃𝒆𝙖𝒕 𝑺𝙩𝒓𝙤𝒌𝙚:

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: Leaving pets in hot cars, especially on sunny days, can cause their body temperature to rise rapidly.
𝐋𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐞: Pets left outside without access to shade can overheat.
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞: Overexertion in hot weather, especially for brachycephalic breeds (short-nosed breeds like Bulldogs and Pugs), can lead to heat stroke.
