GOOD BOY! 🐶

A corgi based in the Philippines won a world title at this year’s World Dog Show held in Geneva, Switzerland.

Owner Wency Villanueva took to Facebook to share the good news, adding his pup Dalbong also took home the Swiss Champion title and Best of Breed award.

“This win is not just for us, but for all my fellow exhibitors who dream of becoming world champions one day. Never lose faith in yourself and always believe in your dog,” Villanueva wrote.

EFFECTIVE AND PROTECTIVE VACCINATION

I have been reading several accounts of parvovirus infection leading to death in several pets: dogs and puppies alike here in the Philippines recently.

With vaccination: choose a REPUTABLE VACCINE BRAND you can trust for the life and immunity protection of your canine companions.

With vaccination MORE SHOTS do not necessarily translate to INCREASED PROTECTION. It is in the timing of the vaccine. Never too early and too frequently!

It all starts with the breeder and his/her dam which must be boosted weeks prior to breeding (booster shot for 5in1 vaccine) after which her puppies will be protected (maternal immunity passed on to her puppies). This protection passed on to her puppies start to wane at 8 wks. onwards.

Giving puppy vaccine less than 8 wks maybe useless due to presence of maternal antibodies which renders the vaccine less effective.

May start puppy shots between 8-10 wks of age then repeat after 4 weeks. We DO NOT GIVE LEPTOSPIROSIS Vaccine to oir puppies- it is this component that causes vaccine adverse events (loss of appetite, body weakness and death)

With the NOBIVAC DHPPi brand (without Leptospirosis vaccine): last shot may be given at 10-12 wks of age, no need for several shots.

If you can give 1st puppy shot at 10 wks- that is also the last shot as what the manufacturer claims.

We have had a positive experience with NOBIVAC brand. None of our homebred puppies got infected with Parvovirus even as they have gone to their new homes. We give the 1st shot at 8 wks (2 mos.)2nd shot (last shot) at 12 wks (3 mos.) and the Anti-Rabies Vaccine at 4 mos. of age or later (towards 6 mos. of age) hence I call this my "2-3-4 Vaccination Schedule" WITH THE NOBIVAC DHPPi Vaccine Brand.

Nobivac may not be popular with some commercial vets as it is expensive than the usual el cheapo vaccine (that offer better deals for commercial gain) hence you need to search for the few vets who carry this highly reputable brand.

The only Queen I have ever known in my lifetime- loved by her countrymen and the world. We will remember her by her gentle smile, her lifetime dedication of service during her 70 year reign. Her soul awakened with the love for animals- her dogs and horses. Rest well her majesty. A job well done!
