Yesterday, we passed by Troy’s area. The guards asked if Troy will live up to 2030. He was already a tall adult cat when we met him during the pandemic and caught him for kapon. He and Ken were abandoned outside.
To be healthier and to extend his life, Troy must lose weight.
He has lots of bowls though and a variety of food from different people. The guards can’t stop non-residents from dropping off food even when he already has some.
At his age, Troy must only eat 2x a day.
Having 6tbsps per day of good quality food should be enough.
Wasting pet food is not helping animals. We know that other animals have to die so obligate carnivores can have their food. 🙈
Leaving excess food attracts other animals to the feeding area. There is a site where someone complains about abandoned animals yet the place still has a lot of food past 10PM. The cats are already sleeping by then. 😓 Please collect your food bowls to avoid hungry cats from coming in.
The best time to feed cats is from 5-7 in the morning and in the evening.
Plates lying around trigger cat haters. Wet food is no longer good past 4 hrs. They also add to the clutter. Let’s be mindful of our impact.
HERB is part of a TNVR colony and this afternoon, Sam found him hanging out with his friends by the gate of a building. With Andy’s help (and another lady feeder’s), Herb was caught and brought to Petto Clinic.
He has inflamed gums. Negative on Felv/Fiv/other diseases. The Dr said it could be a pancreatic based on blood work. Herb will be monitored. Herb will be sent to CARA tomorrow.
His bill for today’s test is at ₱7942

CIGARETTE fell ill and went up to his feeder today. It’s scary when this happens with ferals and skittish cats 🙈 He was breathing through his stomach.
We didn’t see him yesterday and he was dehydrated today. We attempted to give subcutaneous fluids but only managed to get wet as he moved when the liquid flowed through the line 😿. He was breathing through his mouth when we sent him to the clinic.
He rode a car for hire with another COLV cat, who has been scheduled for consult at Biyaya Mandala today. Sadly, Cigarette didn’t make it. 😿
Prior to this, Cigarette has been thriving in the LPG room and we would leave him food and water right outside the back door so the other cats won’t disturb him. We just posted his video 3 days ago.
Could it have been the rice meals with onions? Cigarette was just a kitten 😿 and this was unexpectedly fast. 💔

Today, the guard at Jaka said Westy was run over sometime first week of January so the construction people took her body. Run free, Westy 🌈😿

This is what happens when cats who did not grow up on the streets end up abandoned by “cat lovers”. Westy is not street smart and she once crossed Dela Rosa without looking, making us cross to follow her. Cars will stop for humans but not likely for cats. We ended up leaving our cart in the middle of the road. A trash truck even stopped to retrieve it. 🙈
Make better rehoming decisions next time because abandonment always breaks our hearts.
TOSCA looks like the Cloud Formation clowder. We no longer heard about her after Sleepyhead et al were moved to the 4th floor of the building. Their area was refreshed with paint. They are now back but no one saw Tosca yet.

We found a foster family. We are no longer the lost kittens at a nearby mall, who scattered across the pavement out of fear.
Our homes are quiet and we were able to play, eat, and sleep.
Kuneho loves our foster humom the most and follows her everywhere. I love running, hiding and playing. Paniki rejected us at first but she came to accept us.
We are happy kittens who love to eat. We have all more than doubled our rescue sizes! 💝
