Ultrasound guided cystocentesis a procedure used to collect urine directly from the bladder using a needle and syringe. It’s often performed when a clean urine sample is needed for diagnostic purposes, such as testing for infections, crystals, or other abnormalities, or when a cat is unable to urinate naturally. Cystocentesis is a low-risk procedure when performed by an experienced veterinarian and is often the best method for obtaining an uncontaminated urine sample.
