This patient presented with difficulty and discomfort during urination, and her urine was tinged with blood. X-ray examination revealed the presence of stones in both kidneys and the urinary bladder, each slightly larger than a peso coin.
She was also spayed, so this little old dog had 4 surgeries in one session. Despite her age and concurrent chronic kidney disease, the patient successfully recovered from surgery without complications.
She is still alive and kicking, and it has already been 4 months since her surgery.
Urinary stones are common in dogs and cats and their formation may result from various factors such as diet, urinary tract infection, genetics, etc. Consult your trusted vets for appropriate management and treatment.
