🐾 March is Pet Poison Prevention Month! 🐾

This month, we raise awareness about the dangers of household toxins and how to protect our furry friends. Pets are curious, and many common items in our homes can be harmful if ingested.

Here are some tips to keep your pet safe:

*Keep harmful foods out of reach – Chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, and xylitol (found in sugar-free products) can be toxic to pets.
*Lock up cleaning supplies – Household cleaners, disinfectants, and even some plants can cause poisoning if ingested.
*Secure medications – Human medications (like pain relievers or antidepressants) are dangerous for pets, so always store them in a secure location.
*Be cautious with plants – Many common plants, such as lilies, azaleas, and poinsettias, can be poisonous to pets.

Know the symptoms of poisoning – Vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, and lethargy are all signs that your pet might have ingested something harmful.

👨‍⚕️ If you suspect your pet has been poisoned, contact your veterinarian immediately.
