-----TRANSMISSIBLE VENEREAL TUMOR ------
A naturally transmissible cancer affecting canids. The tumor cell is itself the infective agent. The tumor is transplanted from site to site and from dog to dog by direct contact with the tumor mass . Cells may be transplanted to adjacent skin and oral, nasal, or conjunctival mucosae. The tumor can be naturally transplanted only across abraded mucosae. TVTs are commonly transmitted between dogs during MATING. However, contrary to its name, TVT is not exclusively a venereal disease. The tumor may also spread through common social behavior such as sniffing, licking, scratching, or biting. Dam-to-pup transmission may also occur through grooming.

This was our actual TVT case recently. This was LUNA's Journey. It's heartwarming to see how far she’s come, especially with the love and support of her new furparents. It sounds like she’s been really brave throughout her chemotherapy, and now she’s ready for her next step with the ovariohysterectomy. Wishing her a smooth recovery and a happy, healthy future ahead! 🐾💖
