Just like newborn babies, puppies require multiple meals in small quantities every day. From 6 to 12 weeks, pups mostly require four feedings a day to ensure they get the proper nutrition they need. 🍲 If you want to avoid having a picky eater, it's best to train your pup early by serving meals at the same time and with the same amount every day. As they grow, the frequency and amount of food they need will gradually change. 🐶 Remember that, depending on their breed, puppies' needs may vary, so it's still best to consult with your vet. 💖

Our strong little parvo warrior! Loss of appetite is a common symptom of parvovirus. As fur parents, it's disheartening to see our dogs refusing to eat their food and turning weak. However, this brave pup started eating again on its own when served with The Canine Cooks after being force fed for 8 days! Curious about the story behind The Canine Cooks? It was the summer of 2019 when we welcomed toy poodles Mochi and Cocoa into our family (not soon later, Maggie the Maltese became our family, too). They were as energetic and as healthy as any pup, but easily grew tired of eating kibble. Worried for their health, we tried plenty of commercial dog food variants and brands - but they still wouldn’t eat those past a day or two Our search for a sustainable food solution eventually led us to the kitchen and start cooking for them. Not only did this get them very excited for meal time (jumping up and down right before their food is served!), it was clearly superior in nutrition than anything they’ve ever had before. Since then, partnerships with veterinarians, animal nutritionists and chefs have refined our recipes to achieve the perfect balance of flavor and nutrition. We believe dogs should have access to real, minimally processed food as part of a happy and healthy life. The feels we get when we see our pups happily chow down real, good food - we want to share that joy with all fur parents.
