Just wanna share a story about our rehomed kitten “𝓒𝓪𝓷𝓭𝔂”. She's a mix of pure British Shorthair (import Mom) and pure Exotic Shorthair (island born Dad). Although we know the quality of both parents, we rehomed her for a fraction of the market price -- given that we'll be doing a hardcore screening to filter the interested adopters and hoping to find a furrever home for her because that's our priority.

Her new meowmy 𝐐, after passing all our screening routine, immediately gave the reservation fee.

However after a month, Candy suffered from an eye infection and also lost her appetite. At that time, all updates were communicated with her new meowmy and we were transparent with her. Since we do not know if Candy will still survive given her condition, and might be blind if she did, we asked her if she wants her refund so that she can find a new kitten. She refused and told us that she'll wait for Candy. 🥹💞 At this point, even though our spirits were crushed facing our situation, we were so glad that we managed to find the best meowmy for her.

And this is our dearest Candy now with her new meowmy since September 2022 — healthy, playful and a chonk 🥰 we can't be more grateful!

Let's take a look at their few differences, shall we?

𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩, 𝙡𝙚𝙩'𝙨 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙧 🧡

The British Shorthair is usually a larger and heavier.
Aside from their common blue coat they also come in many different shades like: Black, White, Gold, Silver, Chocolate, Cinnamon etc.

This breed is easy to recognize because of their thick legs, broad chests, rounded heads, and chubby cheeks that are totally pinchable!

Whereas Scottish folds, these gorgeous cats have rounded heads, short necks, and large eyes that, combined with their 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴, give them a unique, owl-like look. 🦉

Scottish Fold kittens are born with straight ears. At about three to four weeks of age, their ears fold…or they don’t!

𝙉𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙪𝙥 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮! 🧡

Finally, both breeds are not active cats. They will both play, but the British Shorthair will show a little less enthusiasm for playtime than the Scottish Fold.

British Shorthair is an independent cat. You leave them and get busy with your own chores, they would not mind that!

The Scottish Fold does seem to get along well with other people. They’re are cuddly and playful and would love to hug you all the time. So, it would be best if you made sure to give your cat an ample amount of time.

Despite their differences, the British Shorthairs and Scottish folds are both beautiful cats that are devoted and loving, so either one would be an amazing companion 🧡🥰
