CARA Welfare Philippines recently participated in Tiktok Shop Philippines' "Beauty Not Cruelty" event, a celebration of brands that promoted cruelty-free beauty products and pet wellness. Speaking to content creators and influencers, CARA Trustee Eleanor Agulto gave an overview of CARA's mission to help stop animal cruelty through kindness, compassion and action. CARA president Nancy Cu Unjieng and CARA volunteers Ceg, Nympha, Liezel, Zyd, Mariel and Aljane attended the event.

Our animals wake up each day hoping for a full bowl and a little comfort. Right now, we’re running low on their essentials, and we’re hoping for your help.

Last November 13, we had back-to-back meetings with Olympic Heights Eastwood and Barangay Merville. At Olympic Heights, we discussed CNVR and humane community cat management for their basement cats. In Merville, we explored a mass CNVR program for community pets and a humane approach to managing strays. Step by step, more communities are choosing kindness and responsible solutions.

One of the event's highlights is a roundtable duscussion on Animal Assisted Intervention and Activities, where CARA Trustee Eleanor Agulto talked about the Healing Cats of CARA. Nancy Cu Unjieng, CARA's founder and president, graced the occasion.

Ember joined CARA to try something new and discover new experiences. Almost a year later, he’s now an active volunteer and assistant team leader for the Events Team. His favorite memory is helping design and set up CARA’s booths at major events like the International Pet Summit and World Pet Expo, where he saw how creativity and teamwork could inspire more people to care for animals.

Every day, our rescued cats wake up to the same quiet hope, that there will be food in their bowls, medicine when they’re sick, and gentle hands to care for them. For years, CARA’s cattery has been a refuge for cats who once knew hunger, fear, and neglect. Here, they are safe. Here, they are loved.

But right now, donations have dropped, and supplies are running low. Our daily expenses for care, utilities, cleaning, and medical needs continue to rise. These are the quiet costs that keep their home running, yet they’re often the hardest to cover.
