GENETICS: GENES FOR GAMEFOWL TRAITS NOW IDENTIFIED
*
We will be more detailed discussions on these, at our subscribers group.
Several studies are now very advanced. However, knowledge is not a guarantee of winning contests. There are so many other factors that determine results, other than deeper understanding of breeding.
Gamefowl traits are influenced by a complex interaction of genetics, environment, training, and selection. In terms of genetics, several genes related to physical performance, behavior, and physiology could play a role in enhancing their ability.
While specific genes related to fighting ability in gamefowl have not been pinpointed in detail, there are key genetic factors that could influence it.
For example are muscle Development Genes, such as MSTN (Myostatin) Myostatin is a gene that inhibits muscle growth. Mutations or variations in this gene could lead to increased muscle mass, which would be advantageous for strength and endurance in fighting. Another is IGF-1 (Insulin-like Growth Factor 1): This gene is involved in muscle growth and development, and its activity could enhance the muscle strength of gamefowl.
There are many more already identified by science. We will be discussing these, at our subscribers group. You may subscribe. Subscribe button on the panel above. This is how advanced is research now. It is up to breeders to take advantage of these developments.
