🐾Things to Consider Before Acquiring a New Pet:

Bringing a new pet into your life is a joyful experience but it also comes with responsibilities. Here are some key things to think about before making the decision:

1. Financial Responsibility
📌 Can you afford the ongoing expenses such as food, grooming, vet care and emergencies?
Pets are long-term financial commitment.

2. Time Commitment
📌Do you have enough time for daily care, training, and companionship?
Pets need regular attention not just food but exercise, socialization, and affection.

3. Living Space
📌Is your home suitable for the type of pet you’re considering?
📌Do you have enough space for them to live comfortably?
Some pets may not be allowed in rented spaces-check your lease or housing rules.

4. Lifestyle Compatibility
📌Does the pet suit your daily routine, work schedule, travel habits, and activity level?
Example: A high energy dog needs more walks and playtime than a cat or small pet.

5. Allergies and Health Issues
📌Does anyone in your household have allergies to fur, dander, or pet-related items?

6. Other Pets and Family Members
📌Will your current pets or family members adjust well to a new animal?

7. Pet’s Lifespan
📌Are you ready for a long-term commitment?
Dogs and cats can live 10 to 18 years; some birds and turtles even longer.

8. Choosing the Right Pet
📌Do research to find a breed or species that fits your personality, lifestyle, and experience levels.

Tail docking of Giant Poodle puppies.

Tail Docking in dogs refers to surgical removal or amputation of part or all of a dog’s tail usually done when a dog is few days old (newborn pups).

Tail Docking done for some reasons:

1. Traditional breed standards. Some breeds like Doberman, Boxer, Rottweiler and Giant Poodle have historically had docked tails as part of their “look”

2. Working dog justification
Claimed to prevent tail injuries in working or hunting dogs

3. Perceived hygiene or practical reasons
Some breeders claim it prevents soiling or injury especially in long- tailed dog with thick furs.

Veterinarians and pet owners are partners in protecting pet health and well-being. By working together with compassion and responsibility, we create a stronger, healthier future for pets. Promoting kindness online strengthens this partnership, ensuring support rather than negativity. Cyberbullying hurts more than just people—words can heal or harm. Choose kindness.

Calling out all clients of PVC:
Please be informed that Dr. Primitiva is strictly imposing “No blood test, No surgery policy”
And she required that any patient that is subject for any kind of surgical procedures MUST be completely vaccinated - have updated vaccination and deworming records.
And if the owner insist to submit his or her pet for a procedure without blood test and other necessary tests related to the procedure, then the owner MUST sign a waiver and write a sworn statement (notarised affidavit) that he/she will not hold the Veterinarian and the staffs liable for any cause of his/her pets casualty.
Please be aware that any surgical procedure has accompanying risks and danger. That is why we make sure that the patient is screened thoroughly to ensure that it is fit to be anesthetized and operated.
