GIARDIASIS is an intestinal infection in humans and animals caused by a single celled protozoan parasite.
This disease can be transmitted by eating or
sniffing the cysts from contaminated ground,
or by drinking contaminated water.
GIARDIA infection in dogs may lead to weight loss, chronic intermittent diarrhea, fatty stool and may cause death to puppies and debilitated adult dogs if left untreated. Vomiting may occur in some cases.
If you observed recurring diarrhea in your dog's and cats, please consult your veterinarian for proper guidance and right treatment.
