Our patient, Tofi was brought to our clinic as the owner suspected that Tofi accidentally ingested a wooden screw. Upon checking through an X-ray they found out that the wooden screw is in Tofi’s stomach.

Tofi immediately underwent surgery, Doctors from Vet ng Concepcion Animal Clinic successfully get the wooden screw from Tofi’s small intestine and we are happy to announce that he fully recovered from the operation.

Remember that whether your Pet swallows any objects, pointed objects or not is a medical emergency. Even if your dog seems fine, you must get veterinary advice immediately to prevent serious complications.

This is Bella, a 3-year-old female shihtzu, she was brought to Vet ng Concepcion Animal Clinic due to blood in her urine and frequent urination. Laboratory (X-ray) results show that she has urinary bladder stones.

The results and diagnosis were explained to the owner and decided to proceed with the surgery. After a while Bella underwent a Cystotomy, it was a smooth and successful operation. After weeks of recovery, Bella is now doing well.

What Is Cystotomy in Dogs?

A cystotomy in dogs is a surgical procedure performed to open the bladder surgically. Once the bladder is exposed, a precise incision is made in the bladder wall allowing the surgeon to remove bladder stones. The bladder is carefully closed with sutures to prevent leakage of urine into the abdomen.

Bladder stones in dogs can cause:
• Pain during urination
• Frequent Urination
• Difficulty urinating or interrupted urine flow
• Blood in the urine

PYOMETRA AND URINARY BLADDER CRYSTAL PATIENT

The patient is a 2-year-old feline, observed with vaginal discharges by her owner.

Older, intact female cats that have gone through several heat cycles without becoming pregnant are susceptible to Pyometra. It happens when the uterus becomes more vulnerable to bacterial infections due to hormonal changes. After these long-term alterations, bacteria from the v***a enter the uterus, multiply, and produce pus.

When urease-forming microbes cause an infection in the urinary tract, Struvite are produced. Due to the concentrated urine caused by the lack of moisture, cats who consume dry food and follow an unhealthy diet are more susceptible to Struvite. One way to prevent urinary tract infections is to encourage the consumption of wet food and fluids.
