Hi Pet Lovers!

PFD is genuinely grateful for the trust you have afforded us over the past years by availing our pet food products, accessories, and donation services to animal sanctuaries.

We have tried our best to always keep our costs to the lowest possible for you despite numerous increases in the cost of goods, fuel, and other critical supply chain expenses.

To give us time to determine how to best move forward, we are suspending our pet food goods and accessories services. We will not be selling products at this time.

However, as part of our commitment to truly help animal welfare in the country, we will retain our donation services to various animal shelters across the Greater Manila Area. You may purchase animal food from us, and we will also handle the delivery.

We have had the pleasure of distributing and helping donations safely get delivered to MBY Pet Rescue and Sanctuary, PAWSsion Project, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Animal Rescue PH, CARA Welfare Philippines, and so many more.

Finally, if perhaps there are some among you who are interested in collaborating with PFD, please do reach out to us, and we would love to explore possibilities with you.

During monsoons, your canine companions are exposed to moisture, which makes them susceptible to pododermatitis. Moisture in parks and wet streets weaken the follicles, which leads to skin inflammations in their paws.

Here are some tips to ensure their safety during wet season:

1. Keep your pet’s fur dry and use an ideal rain gear as and when required. Pat dry your dog’s hair using a towel before and after its daily walks and outdoor play time.

2. Protect those Paws! Your dog’s paws come in contact with the ground and hence exposed to dirt and disease causing viruses, bacteria and other micro-organisms.

3. Boil water before you give it to your pet dog for drinking. This way you can easily avert your pet’s tummy troubles.

Rain can present some real health and safety problems for dogs. Here are three dangers to look out for:

1. Leptospirosis

A bacteria-like spirochete, is carried naturally by wildlife, like rodents and raccoons. In high rainfall situations, it's prevalent in the environment. In dogs that have exposure to water sources, contaminated by wildlife urine (puddles, streams, ponds, etc.), transmission can occur.

2. Pneumonia

If dogs are exposed to wet, cold weather for too long, their respiratory tract can become inflamed, which may lead to pneumonia,” Tauber says. This is especially true for both older and younger dogs, as well as any whose immune systems may be compromised.

3. Parvovirus

Once a dog has parvo he deposits the virus into the ground when he defecates. Once in the ground it can live for years. When we experience heavy rain or flooding the virus surfaces and we see a resurgence of infected dogs who then begin to spread the disease to other unprotected dog.

It's not okay to leave a dog outside in the rain!

While it's sometimes unavoidable for a dog to get wet in a sudden downpour, you shouldn't leave a dog outside in the rain.

Long term exposure to cold, wet weather can lead to inflammation of your dog's respiratory tract, and eventually pneumonia.

Pneumonia is dangerous for senior dogs and puppies, as well as dogs with weakened immune systems.

The month of June is the begining of the rainy season, let us all be cautious with our furiends and make sure they are safe by keeping them dry and feeding them with the right food they need.
