- First Aid Kit: Include bandages, antiseptic, and other first aid essentials.

Paraphimosis, the inability to completely reduce the p***s into the preputial cavity, most commonly occurs in a dog after manual semen collection, less commonly after coitus , trauma and others. The skin at the preputial or***ce becomes inverted, trapping the extruded p***s and impairing venous drainage.

The exposed p***s quickly becomes edematous, because its venous drainage is compromised. With continued exposure, the mucosa becomes dry and painful. Self-trauma exacerbates the condition.

This was the case of our patient, COOKIE , a male intact dog around 10 years of age. And thankfully, we’re able to retract the p***s back to the normal position with proper treatment and medications.

🤔DID YOU KNOW???

▶️ Toxocara canis “roundworms” are the most common of the parasitic worms found inside a dog. Almost all dogs become infected with them at some time in their lives, usually as puppies.
▶️People can get roundworms from contact with f***s or contaminated soil.
▶️Children and pregnant women are especially at risk.
▶️Most dogs get roundworms at sometime in their lives. It can even be passed to puppies before they are born or in the mother’s milk.
▶️ With major roundworm infections, especially puppies, show diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss, dull hair, and a potbellied appearance. The dog may cough if the roundworms move into the lungs.

As a result, puppies should be treated when very young and both the mother and puppies need regular preventive treatment.

☑️Your veterinarian can suggest appropriate treatment and prevention strategies to keep you and your dog healthy.

This is Lio, a Persian cat suffering from skin problem for almost a week. Crusty scabs, hair loss, reddening of the skin and itching are just a few signs that was observed by the owner.

Lio was subject for skin test. And guess what? He was diagnosed with Notoedres mange “feline scabies”/ “galis pusa”.

Notoedres mange, is a highly contagious skin infection caused by an ectoparasitic and skin burrowing mite Notoedres cati. It is a primarily parasite of felids,but in can also infest other animals. It can be acquired through outdoor activity or when being in contact with an infected cat. It is also a ZOONOTIC , meaning it has a potential to affect humans.
