VISIT OF GORDON COLLEGE STUDENTS.
One of the aims of the Green Balai Farm is to reach the Youth, to impart to them the benefits of organic farmer. This has been our Mission ever since we put up the Farm. And now, it seems that we are gaining ground on that aspect.
The Gordon College is located in Olongapo, and this was the second batch of visitors we had from that school.

FOR SALE AT THE GREEN BALAI FARM.
Get your organically grown vegetables at the Farm today. We have papayas, Salad Vegetables -- Lettuce, and Bananas. Except for the lettuce, most of our products are sold at P50 a kilo. That goes for the bananas and papayas. Farm gate prices.

I was glad to see some construction workers stop by the Farm to bring home some TILAPIA for their families.

When Gideon (the male Anglo Nubian goat) saw me, he went to the fence. I gave him my fingers and he nozzled them. We gazed into each other's eyes. I could tell he was happy in his new home. The female goats look like they had big bellies. I hope this means more "grandchildren" for me.

THE GREEN BALAI FARM'S COLLECTION OF RABBITS.
I went to check the farm's collection of rabbits today. I always want to have a varied collection of everything in my farm. I was pretty happy with what was in the farm. There were the usual New Zealand white rabbits, the white with a touch of grey in the ears, the white with a touch of grey in the nose area, the elongated ones, and the regular bunny-sized ones. Then there were a few grey rabbits, and a few black rabbits. I plan to get a fresh supply of rabbits, to bring in new blood to my supply.

The Indian Runner Ducks have grown!!! But they are still chasing each other, mimicking what the other does. I love them!

FOR SALE @ THE GREEN BALAI FARM.
Azollas @ P100/kg. Unripe Papayas and Bananas @ P50 a kilo. Tilapia and Hito fingerlings- depending on the size. Medicinal Chicken-- Silkie- depending on the size.
Entrance fee is P100 per person. Carbonized Rice Hull and Vermicast is at P100 for three one-kilo bags. Of course, we have our Kalamansi Juice, Brownies, Oatmeal cookies.

MARIKINA COLLEGE Teachers and school officials checked into the Vista Venice Resort in Nagbalayong, Morong, Bataan. They wanted to visit tourist sites and farms in Bataan where they could bring their students. Bataan has everything of interest -- history, nature and beach. They first went to the Balanga side of Bataan -- the World War II Museum, the Mt. Samat National Shrine or Dambana ng Kagitingan. On day two, they wanted to do nature. So Pawikan (Turtle Sanctuary) and the Green Balai Farm were their choices.
At the Green Balai Farm, they chose to learn about how cashews are roasted and packed. This was demonstrated to them. In their next visit, they want to experience "farm-to-table". For this, the Green Balai Farm will give a demonstration on how mushrooms are grown, harvested and cooked.

LANZONES GALORE!
One of the benefits of having a Farm with lots of different fruits is that you get to know about the fruits even more. I never thought lazones fruits would be so plentiful in one tree. They are all over the tree! I am glad that the staff know better than to eat the lanzones before I could see them.

RAMBUTAN IN THE FARM.
We have rambutan in the farm! For many years, we had not seen it. It must have been planted in 2012 by Ralph Diaz, the owner of the farm. The tree grows to 27 meters in height (our tree must have been the dwarf variety because it is just 10 meters tall). It has red fruits covered with "hair". Inside is a seed with white translucent creamy jelly-like. The rambutan belongs to the same family as the lychee.

THE LOCATION OF THE FARM.
The Green Balai Farm is located on the main highway connecting Morong town to Subic. Normally, a lot of vehicles ply this road. But since it is the rainy season, the beachgoers are staying home.

IT'S THE SEASON FOR LANZONES!
I came to see how the LANZONES looked like this year. Well, they are still small. But I liked the lines of the tree. The bark had some white spots, which indicates that it is healthy.

WHITE CHOCOLATES AND DARK CHOCOLATES-- which do you prefer?
My sisters came from a farm in Iloilo, and they were raving about drinking "chocolateng batirol" or hot chocolate. One of them described biting into the dark chocolate beans, and what an interesting experience it was.
I quietly thought to myself, "I have a farm. I have cacao fruits. Why have I never bitten into a chocolate bean?
So I went to check my files. I remembered that the variety of cacao that the Green Balai Farm has is 'CRIOLLE", or white chocolates. When Ramon Ilagan offered it to me, I was excited. I loved white chocolates. I never had dark chocolates!! I wonder if I should start p lanting dark chocolates next to my white chocolates. What do you think?
