Popoy & Basha are happily bagong ligo! 🌸🧡🫶🏽 Their agenda for Day 2 at Lara’s Ark includes some scratchies and sunshine, a nice warm bath, and delicious & nutritious meals! Both are slowly opening up to our team and they clearly just want to be loved.
Wonder’s progress 🧡 From warily walking down the hallways of Vets in Practice to confidently strutting around a busy shopping mall! We’ll begin taking inquiries for adoption of this special girl very soon. If you’re interested in adopting Wonder or have any questions about her so far, you can email us at [email protected] ☺️ Serious inquiries only please.
WONDER’S STORY:
2 months ago, this sweet girl was hit by a speeding vehicle. The impact was so hard that her eyes prolapsed (popped out) and could no longer be saved. She had a seizure upon arrival at the vet, along with swelling on the left side of her face and fluid coming out of her left ear. She also tested positive for ehrlichia and was severely anemic. She was a new mom, with a litter of 5 just over 2 weeks old at the time of the accident. According to Racs, who found her, the puppies were taken by people in the neighborhood, but others refused to disclose who or where they went.
Wonder was hit at about 2AM according to witnesses. Luckily, Racs (our go-to rescue transporter) passes through the area often and found her. She was rushed to Vets in Practice, where her treatment was sponsored by our good friend and fellow animal advocate, Peter Hager. Thanks to Peter and the incredible vets at VIP, she was able to recover after 2 months of intensive care, as well as get spayed and fully vaccinated 🙏🏽
Wonder is now learning to navigate the world without sight at her foster home 🌸 She’s getting more & more confident every day. She loves to go on walks, explore, and sniff her way around. We’re confident that she’ll adjust well and be ready for adoption in the next few months, if not weeks! Stay tuned to hear about her progress 🫶🏼

Thank you for the shout out, Mitch! We woof you ☺️🐕🫶🏼 Mitch and her brother Matti have adopted from the shelter not once, but twice! Sake and Audi are sooo lucky to have found a family in them.
The evolution of a best friendship 🐕🫶🏼 Tallulah & Karma were both rescued post-Taal volcano eruption. They were long time residents of the shelter until they were fostered.
Tallulah was first, and quickly became a foster fail. Karma, who was considered unadoptable because of her fear & trauma, came a few months later and also found a permanent home in the pack.
If there’s anything we’ve learned from our work, it’s that sometimes love comes when you least expect it 🧡
Echo slowly coming out of her beautiful shell 🐚 Adoption isn’t a linear process, and some dogs take longer to adjust than others. But that’s okay! It doesn’t make them any less worthy of love. In fact, we believe that the rescues who take their time with new people are the smartest and, in the end, the most loyal 🧡
Shoutout to our resident therapy dog, Gaucho, for being the best foster Kuya we could ask for! He’s done an amazing job helping our shyer, more traumatized rescues trust humans and reconnect with their joyful inner puppy 🐶
This is why fostering is so important 🧡 Rescues with extreme trauma like Lucas take time to come out of their shells, but when they do.. it’s like magic ✨
Hey, we’re Lara’s Ark! 🧡🐕 Our dream is to be more than an animal rescue, but a sanctuary where animals can, in their own way, help rescue humans too ✨
A little love goes a long way 🧡☺️ May more people see just how special rescues are!
