COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT RABBITS (PART 1)

1. Huwag bumili ng Isang rabbit dahil mamamatay pag walang kasama.

Hindi po totoong mamamatay ang rabbit pag mag-isa lang dahil sa totoo lang mas komportable po ang rabbit pag mag-isa lang siya sa kanyang cage. Iwas stress at iwas away pag walang kasama.

2. Ang pag-aalaga ng rabbit ay para sa mga bata lamang.

Ito po ang pinakamasakit na katotohanan. Huwag po tayong bumili ng rabbit para iregalo at gagawing laruan lamang ng maliliit na bata. Hindi po sila laruan. Isa sila sa pinakamaselang domestic animals sa mundo kaya kailangan talaga ng matinding pag-iingat sa pag-aalaga sa mga ito kung kaya't sila ay dapat alagaan ng mga mas nakakatanda. Sobrang stressful para sa mga rabbits pag hindi sila nahahawakan ng maayos at napapakain sa tamang oras na magiging sanhi ng kanilang pagkamatay.

3. Ang mga rabbits ay mahilig sa carrots.

Oo fan kayo ni Bugs Bunny na mahilig sa carrots pero isa ito sa pinakamaling impormasyong nadulot ng cartoons sa atin. Maselan po ang sikmura ng mga rabbits. Kung magpapakain ng mga pagkain na rich in sugar gaya ng carrots ay dapat konti lang at wag dalasan ang pagbigay ng mga ito. Kapag masosobrahan naman sila ng pagkain ng matutubig na halaman gaya ng kangkong at talbos ng kamote ay magtatae sila at magiging rason ng kanilang pagkahina at pagkamatay. Unlimited grass gaya ng paragis, star grass at napier grass lang ay sapat na para sa mga rabbits. Hindi ganoon kagastos gaya ng ibang hayop ngunit pag nais niyong pakainin ng feeds bilang alternative sa grass pag hindi available sa inyong lugar, maaari silang pakainin ng Probbit o Integra 3000, dalawang beses sa isang araw. Dapat unlimited din ang tubig! Iwas dehydration at heat stroke.

4. May rabies ang rabbits.

Normal na sa isang rabitero ang kalmot at kagat mula sa mga alagang rabbits. WALA PO SILANG RABIES.
