ANO ANG DAPAT GAWIN

Ano ang Heartworm?🫀

Ang heartworm ay isang seryoso at matinding sakit na nakapagpapababa ng buhay ng iyong a*o. Ito ay dahil sa mga bulate na nabubuhay sa puso at baga na nagiging dahilan ng mga sakit gaya ng heart failure, lung disease at pagkasira ng iba pang organs.

Paano ito nalilipat sa ibang a*o?🦟

Ang mga lamok ang unang dahilan kung bakit kumakalat at lumlipat sa ibang a*o ang sakit na ito. Kung ang lamok ay naka-kagat ng isang infected, nailipat sa iba via ‘bites’, na maaring pagsimulan ng ‘larvae’, hanggang sa magdevelop at mag mature ito. Ang heartworm ay pwedeng manirahan sa iyong alaga ng 5-7 years ng di mo namamalayan. Dahil sa katagalan nito palaging inaabot ang “rainy/mosquito sea*on” kada taon.

1. Tuloy-tuloy na pag-ubo.
2. Palaging napapaagod.
3. Hinihingal lagi.
4. Mahina kumain.
5. Pagbaba ng timbang.
6. Matambok na tiyan dahil sa mga excess fluid.

Paano ma-iiwasan ang Heartworm?⚠️

Maari itong ma-iwasan sa pamamagitan ng pag inom ng ‘preventive heartworm medication’ gaya ng chewable Heartgardplus na ibinibigay buwan-buwan. Mayroon ding mga injectable, isa hanggang dalawang beses sa isang taon na inirereseta lamang ng iyong veterenary.
