We left Seoul at 8 AM after picking up all the guests who signed up via S.A Tour, 韓國日本旅遊 S.A.Tour guided by Marco. He's patient and spontaneous with every schedule, handling tickets and guiding us through a self-paced tour. 🚌 The 알파카월드 대표 페이지 experience starts at 10:10 AM, where we got up close to feed them. The zookeeper announced the dos and don'ts for feeding, and the stars of the show came down to spend time with humans before heading back to their barn up the hill. 🦙💚 I was so overwhelmed that I missed capturing a photo of myself feeding them—they're absolutely adorable! 🥹📸 Alpacas at the farm are imported from Peru, specially bred and cared for in a nurturing environment. The farm started with a few alpacas to provide therapeutic interactions, quickly becoming a beloved attraction. Meerkat Friends Café in Hongdae🐾 미어캣프랜즈 | Seoul Located near Hongik University, Meerkat Friends Café offers a unique experience with meerkats, raccoons, cats, wallabies, and other exotic animals. 🦝 Visiting feels similar to a zoo, a setting many people have mixed feelings about nowadays. However, the café puts significant effort into prioritizing animal welfare, with many of the animals, like the raccoon, being rescues. 🐱🦘 Human-animal contact is kept to a minimum, and there are strict rules to ensure the animals have time to rest and enjoy some downtime. Only a few visitors are allowed inside the meerkat enclosure at a time, and time limits are set to prevent overstimulation of these curious creatures, who are active for just about 10 hours a day. ⏰🐾 Would I visit again? 🤔 It was an interesting experience, and it’s clear that the animals are well cared for and not neglected. However, it’s hard not to feel a sense of sadness when you think about some of these animals’ natural behaviors and environments. The coatis, for example, usually roam in packs and cover long distances daily, so being confined doesn’t fully align with their natural instincts. 😔 Similarly, the meerkats, known for their love of burrowing, miss the chance to dig as they would in the wild. 🕳️ While the café provides a safe and clean environment, it’s not the same as their natural habitat. 🌿 Ultimately, it’s a personal decision whether to support places like this. They do their best to ensure the animals are comfortable, but it’s not the wild, and it shows. Second visit to KopiCat Cafe - by Groovy Kemang ☕️🐱, Jakarta, was a delightful escape before my flight to Kuala Lumpur. Instead of spending hours in the airport lounge, I opted to relax at the cat cafe, despite the notorious Jakarta traffic. The travel time from my hotel to the Kemang branch was around 3 hours for a roundtrip, and it took about 90 minutes to get to the airport. The time spent was absolutely worth it. The cafe is a cozy haven filled with adorable cats, making it a perfect place to unwind. I had a great time playing with Mochi, a playful and affectionate feline who seemed to enjoy the attention. The other cats were mostly catnapping and having their own “meh” time, which added to the tranquil atmosphere of the cafe. However, I was a bit sad not to see Jelly, one of my favorites from the last visit. The staff at Kopi Cat Cafe are friendly and attentive, ensuring both the cats and visitors have a pleasant experience.
