Xiao Ba Ji, a one-year-old female dog, was brought to the clinic with the following symptoms: loss of appetite, wet stool, and vomiting. Blood tests confirmed that she was not only Canine Parvovirus (CPV) positive but also battling Babesiosis, a tick-borne infection that attacks red blood cells.

Treating co-infections like these requires aggressive supportive care. Xiao Ba Ji underwent fluid therapy to prevent dehydration, antibiotics and antiparasitic treatment, and nutritional support to help her regain strength. After days of intensive care, her appetite improved, and our little figther gradually regained her energy.

𝙀𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣 is a common but uncomfortable condition in which the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the eye's surface. This can lead to irritation, pain, and, if left untreated, more severe complications like corneal ulcers or scarring.

Common symptoms to watch out for are frequent squinting or blinking, excessive tearing or eye discharge, and redness or inflammation around the eyes. Your cat may also exhibit discomfort, such as pawing at their face or avoiding bright light.

The most effective way to address entropion is through surgical correction, where the eyelid is adjusted to prevent it from rolling inward. Prompt treatment can prevent more serious complications, such as corneal ulcers or scarring.

Chimmy was brought to UrbanPets clinic showing these worrying symptoms: purulent (or with pus) nasal discharge, wet stool, and vomiting. Diagnostic tests revealed a protozoal infection via fecalysis and a positive Canine Parvovirus (CPV) result on the test kit.

Our team then provided supportive treatment, including using a nebulizer to alleviate nasal irritation. After days of round-the-clock care and monitoring, Chimmy made a remarkable recovery and is now back to its lively self.

While there is no cure for CPV, timely intervention and the proper medication can effectively manage symptoms and prevent secondary infections. Vaccination is still the best way to shield your dog from serious diseases.

Jin Tiao, a 10-month-old female dog, was brought to UrbanPets Clinic exhibiting severe symptoms: vomiting, reddish-brown wet stool, decreased appetite, and lethargy. PCR tests confirmed a dual diagnosis of Canine Parvovirus (CPV) and Canine Coronavirus (CCV) — both highly contagious and potentially life-threatening diseases if left untreated.

She remained under our care for nine days, receiving round-the-clock treatment. With the help of Canglob P, a liquid suspension containing antibodies that provide passive immunity against parvovirus, she showed remarkable improvement.

On the seventh day, Jin Tiao began eating properly, marking a significant turning point in her recovery. A few days later, she was discharged, and we are delighted to share that our brave little warrior is now fully recovered.

There is no specific cure for CPV or CCV, but supportive care, medication, and antibiotics can effectively manage symptoms and prevent secondary infections. Vaccination remains the most effective way to protect your dog from these contagious diseases.

Igor is a rescued cat with a complex medical history. Several years ago, he was diagnosed with feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) and underwent a pe**le urethrostomy, a surgical procedure that creates a new, wider opening for the urethra to prevent further urinary blockages.

Recently, Igor was brought to the clinic due to inappetence (loss of appetite). Diagnostic tests revealed positive results for feline Coronavirus (FCoV) and feline herpesvirus (FHV). During a physical examination, despite his bladder not being distended, we detected a hard mass upon palpation. An x-ray confirmed the presence of a urolith or bladder stone.

Our team successfully removed the bladder stone through surgery, ensuring Igor's path to a smooth and swift recovery.

A mama cat experiencing dystocia (difficult labor) was brought to the clinic after losing one kitten at home. After careful evaluation, our team performed a C-section and provided whelping assistance, a type of supportive care to ensure each of her newborn was safely delivered.

The mama cat gave birth to four more kittens, but they were initially very weak. She also tested positive for feline herpesvirus (FHV), complicating her recovery and the kittens' care. She needed daily catheterization, while her newborns required round-the-clock support, including syringe feeding.

After 24 hours of intensive care, the kittens gained enough strength to breastfeed. They had stabilized that evening and the mama cat's incision was healing well. The entire family was soon discharged.

Rabies is a vaccine-preventable, zoonotic viral disease that affects the central nervous system. In 99% of human rabies cases, dogs are responsible for virus transmission. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost 100% fatal.*

However, rabies deaths are preventable with timely post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) which includes wound washing, a course of rabies vaccine, and, in some cases, rabies immunoglobulins (RIG). If a person is bitten or scratched by a potentially rabid animal, they should immediately seek PEP care from the nearest Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) or any qualified health facility.

Fifi, a stray cat, was brought to our clinic by a kind-hearted foreign national. She was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia, a condition where abdominal contents push through a weakened area near the groin, likely caused by the trauma of being hit by a vehicle.

We successfully performed the hernial repair and also spayed her during the procedure to prevent future health risks.

We’re happy to share that this resilient puspin (pusang pinoy) is recovering well and on her way to a better life.

Yehye, a 10-month-old Samoyed, came to us with severe limping and difficulty in walking. After a careful examination, we diagnosed him with bilateral hip dysplasia, a common issue in large-breed dogs.

To alleviate his discomfort and improve his quality of life, we performed a Femoral Head and Neck Ostectomy (FHNO). This procedure involves removing parts of the femur to reduce discomfort. We also used laser therapy to aid healing and reduce inflammation.

We’re delighted to share that Yehye has now fully recovered and is moving much more comfortably. 🐾🐶

Lily, a curious kitten, was brought to our clinic after her owner noticed she had ingested the top part of a plastic bottle ni**le. She also had been vomiting for several days — a common symptom of a foreign body obstruction (FBO). An x-ray revealed that the plastic piece had lodged itself in her small intestines, posing a serious risk to her health. Surgery was immediately performed to remove the obstruction, and we’re happy to report that Lily is recovering well, showing promising signs of returning to her playful self.

King, a robust Maine C**n, presented at our clinic with a limp and exhibited pain when his hind leg was touched. After a thorough examination and diagnostic imaging, he was diagnosed with a supracondylar femur fracture, a serious injury requiring immediate surgical intervention.

To address this complex fracture, King underwent specialized orthopedic surgery. The fractured portion of King’s femur was carefully realigned and stabilized to ensure proper healing. We are pleased to announce that the surgery went well. After careful observation and rehabilitation, and as can be seen in the video (taken two months after the surgery), our feline majesty is now back to his playful self. 👑🐱

Your cat may also exhibit discomfort, such as pawing at their face or avoiding bright light. The most effective way to address entropion is through surgical correction, where the eyelid is adjusted to prevent it from rolling inward.
