GENTLE REMINDER TO ALL FUR PARENTS 🐶🐾

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) reminded fur parents on Monday to protect their pets' paws during the dry season as they shared the story of Benjie, a dog who scalded his paw pads.

"Benjie was found desperately seeking shade, taking refuge under a small roof by the house of his rescuer. He was incredibly weak, dehydrated, and had severely scalded paw pads. He limped and whimpered as every small step brought him agony, unable to even stand properly as sharp pain shot from his flesh-exposed paws," they wrote in their post.

Benjie is now recovering and wearing a donut pillow to avoid licking the medication off his paws.

"As this intense heatwave persists, let’s keep our pets and other animals safe. Shield them from hot surfaces like concrete roads and pavement to prevent burns and blisters," they added. (Facebook/PAWS)
