SCAMMER ALERT!📢

On November 12th, a customer purchased several cat necessities from us. Instead of using Instapay, she made the payment through Pesonet, a bank transfer service that takes one to three days for the funds to be credited. She was a new customer who valued her privacy and therefore did not want to provide her address and mobile number. Instead, she insisted on making the booking, which is typical for first-time clients. However, I was hesitant about my husband giving the items to the delivery person because the payment had not yet been credited. Nevertheless, my husband mentioned that he obtained the address and number from the delivery person, and it usually takes a few days for the payment to be processed through pesonet. Since the customer had provided the necessary payment documents related to the transaction with BPI, my husband and daughter assured me that everything would be fine, and we just needed to wait for 3 to 4 days.

To further complicate matters, she showed me an invoice from one of my other clients, claiming she wanted to order the same items. I was puzzled as to how she obtained my client's invoice. She asserts that she is acquainted with our client. I made the assumption that our client had referred her to us. Both the client and Ms. Lardizabal are located in Taguig. We reached out to him. However, the client simply left us on seen modes without providing any further response, which raised suspicions and gave us the impression that he may be collaborating with the scammer. Therefore, it's important to exercise caution and not automatically trust repeat customers, as they may be intentionally building trust before engaging in fraudulent activities.

I've been attempting to contact the buyer through various means (calls, messages, and texts, viber, telegram) but haven't had any success. Unfortunately, she blocked me.

Today, my husband visited PSbank to authenticate the deposit and review the documents given to us by the buyer. We discovered that the buyer's account and the documents were fraudulent. Due to my strong intuition that the buyer may be a scammer, I promptly reported the incident on the first day. However, I wanted to wait for verification from the bank before making any public posts about it. Additionally, I have taken the initiative to report the incident once again to Facebook Marketplace for further action.

We conducted a verification with Villasis Law Center and confirmed that there is no employee registered under Ceiwen Lardizabal.

Please be cautious of this scammer and remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities. It is essential to ensure that payment is confirmed and credited to your account before making any deliveries or booking orders, particularly when using bank transfers. I suspect that the delivery rider may be involved in this crime.

We are currently conducting an investigation into the scam. It is crucial to remain vigilant and exercise caution, even with repeat customers, as they may be attempting to gain your trust. Avoid booking orders without ensuring that payment has been credited to your account, particularly when dealing with banks. It is advisable to prioritize using Instapay over Pesonet. Whenever possible, opt for booking services that provide more comprehensive information.

We are deeply saddened and disheartened by these events, as we are small entrepreneurs with disabilities who are striving to earn an honest living. It is disheartening to witness the presence of such evil in our world. However, we believe that God will ultimately vindicate us, and scammers will face the consequences of their actions.

Fellow sellers, please exercise caution. For those who have fallen victim to scams, please share your experiences as a warning to others. Through our own setbacks, we can learn and educate others through our testimonies. I am incredibly saddened because the amount involved was significant for me and my family, as it was intended to cover my chemotherapy drugs.
