1. Pre-register online. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Be sure to accomplish patient record after you book your animal companion's neuter appointment one form per pet
2. Come on your appointment date.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
3. Upon arrival at the clinic, get a number and fill out a cage tag (cage tags will be placed on your companion animal's carrier for ID purposes).⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
4. Once your number is called, approach the registration window and bring your companion animal with you for physical assessment.⁣⁣
5. After the assessment (and once you have your companion's blood test results), settle your payment. A pick-up slip will the estimated pick-up time will be provided. ⁣⁣
6. Come back on your pick-up schedule. Present your pick-up slip ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣at the window.⁣⁣
7. Once your companion is released, you will be given an after-care guide with the prescription and neuter certificate.⁣⁣
8. In case of emergencies related to kapon (excessive swelling, redness, or discharge) please call 0917-1232154.

Honoring our Brave Boy, Shamus: A Stray's Journey to Love and Light 🌈

Today, we bid farewell to our beloved Shamus, who has bravely crossed the rainbow bridge. Rescued by CARA in June 2013, he was diagnosed with TVT and treated by Doc Mace, who later became his family when adopted by Doc Mace's aunt in December 2013.

Shamus faced multiple surgeries, rounds of chemo, and even had his eyes removed due to cancer. Yet, his spirit was never dampened. For the past 10 years, he lived a beautiful life, filled with love, care, and an unchanging home that catered to his blindness.

Believed to have been 4-5 years old when rescued, Shamus defied the odds and lived to the ripe age of 14 or 15, despite his health conditions. His adoption predates the founding of the PPBCC Foundation, but his legacy lives on in our work.

As a tribute to Shamus's inspiring life, we'll be subsidizing our low-cost neuter rate at the PPBCC Foundation. Thank you, Shamus, for changing our lives and inspiring us with your strength and bravery. You've shown us that every life, no matter how small or troubled, is worth fighting for.

Keep your pets SAFE this New Year’s Eve by following these simple suggestions:

- Above all, keep your pet indoors with curtains closed to shut out any fireworks.

- Check your pet’s microchip, collar and ID tag to make sure they’re secure and that your contact information is current.

- Avoid ‘rewarding’ your dog for being scared. It’s hard not to cuddle them or talk to them, but this reinforces that there’s something to be afraid of. It’s best to just be close by, be quiet, and ignore any anxious looks.

- You can try to distract them with play, a SAFE chew toy, etc. Fill a Kong with something yummy that will take them some time to finish.

- If they want to hide, let them. Just make sure you know where they are—and that it’s someplace safe inside.

- Feed them an hour or so before the fireworks start. A full belly will make them sleepy and help them to relax.

- Turn on the television or stereo to disguise the sounds of fireworks. Music should be calming.

- Be prepared with alternative calming options in case your pet becomes overly distressed. If they are easily upset, consult with your vet ahead of time for suggestions.
