Good morning! We are looking for the owner of this dog, she was a victim of Hit and Run. We found her around 7:45pm last night in front of LAQ Auto Supply, M.Almeda St. Pateros. We tried to revive her but unfortunately she died.

Our Patient yesterday Mocha, has Distemper.

Ano nga ba Ang distemper?
Canine Distemper Viral Infection of Dogs
Ang pinakamalalang viral infection ng a*o. Mahirap ma-diagnose agad ito dahil sumasabay sa mga ibang sakit. Inaatake ang digestive system.

On and off ang diarrhea, sa iba respiratory system naman ang target ng virus. Ubo, sipon at hirap huminga. Masakit ang lalamunan na parang may gustong ilabas. Sa iba may pagmumuta at sipon na malapot. Matigas ang mga talampakan. Susunod mada-damage ang nerve. Magkakaroon ng involuntary muscle movements.
Gagalaw kusa ang noo, manginging ang bibig, bubula ang bibig. Tapos a few days or weeks, magkakaron ng epilepsy. Kapag luamala ang epilepsy hindi na gagaling ang a*o kahit ginamot mo ng 1 month. Kahit bumalik ang normal food intake , tumutuloy pa din ang epilepsy.

Kapag gumaling naman, habambuhay na siyang carrier ng distemper virus. Hindi kayo pwedeng magsama ng bagong tuta sa kanya nang walang anti-distemper vaccine. Kapag humina ulit ang immune system niya, babalik ang mga sintomas ng distemper sa kanya.

HEATSTROKE

Extreme temperatures can cause heatstroke. Some signs of heatstroke are:
-Heavy panting
-Gazed eyes
-Rapid heartbeat
-Difficulty breathing
-Excessive thirst
-Lethargy
-Fever
-Dizziness
-Lack of coordination
-Profuse salivation
-Vomiting
-Deep red or purple tongue
-Seizure
-Unconsciousness

Bring your pet immediately to the nearest vet clinic if they’re experiencing the signs listed above.

Our Patient arrived 6:15PM with 40.8C body temperature. After admin of meds, at 7:10PM puppy’s normal temperature came back.
