‼️Emergency Case: Accidental Chocolate Ingestion‼️

Chocolate contains theobromine. It is the main toxin in chocolate and is very similar to caffeine. In humans, both chemicals are used as diuretic, heart stimulant, blood vessel dilator, and a smooth muscle relaxant. Dogs cannot metabolize theobromine and caffeine as well as people can. That is why dogs are more sensitive to the chemicals’ effects.

🚑 What should I do if my dog eats chocolate? 🚑
If ingested, you should have your dog examined by a veterinarian immediately. The sooner treatment begins, the better your dog's prognosis.

It is a serious condition. If the erosion past the stroma, eyeball may collapse leading to loss of the eye when left untreated.

Causes:
Untreated puncture/blunt-force trauma , abrasions and lacerations are the cause of corneal ulcers.
