🟡 Please do consider regular deworming on your reptile pets as well!! Intestinal parasitism is one of the common diseases that occur in reptile pets. Visit/ask your vet for proper procedure and administration as overdosing may damage your pets liver leading to secondary gout.

it's been a while folks!!
S***M PLUGS!!!!
This male bearded dragon visited us for consultation. Upon physical examination, pe**le pouches were impacted with large solid S***M PLUGS.

Unfortunately, these impacted pouches also trap some f***l matter that leads to infection of the area in the long run.

The bearded dragon was soaked into lukewarm water with iodine for a couple of minutes to soften the spermplug and also to wash the infected area before removing the necrotic tissues together with the said spermplug using forceps.

after weeks of medication, the owner updated us on the good recovery of the said animal.

✅ S***m plugs are normal hardened gelatinous secretions of male reptiles. This can be passed out together with f***l material, but commonly stocked up in the pe**le pouches causing impaction when accumulated.

✅ Regular checking will be helpful enough in checking the condition of hemipenal plug.

Thrilled to share this case with you folks for awareness, those simple spermplug can also lead to serious condition when neglected to be remove.

BEARDED DRAGON MORPHS 101: The GENETIC STRIPES!!!
Hello folks!! We've been receiving some queries regarding the genetic stripe morph , some also want to verify their hatchlings if it is a genetic stripe or not. Some local breeders/seller also tend to accidentally mis id or intentionally mislabeled color stripe for the sake of the market.
So here's a bit of information I want to share with you guys. The image shows the comparison of a genetic stripe and a dragon that also has a dorsal stripe.

✅Genetic Stripe is one of some dominant mutation in bearded dragons. You need to have at least one Genetic stripe on the parents for you to produce it. "STRIPE" refers to the prominent pattern on the spine of the bearded dragons.

✅Vissual stripes/color stripes is a result of selective breeding that tends to enhance and produce some clear stripes on the bearded dragon and totally different from genetic stripes. Stripes of vissual stripe and genetic stripe are comparable to each other since GS will produce more CLEAR RACING STRIPES than the wavy stripes of colored stripes.

✅Genetic Stripes can also produce vissual stripes, but you can differentiate the real genetic stripe with clear stripe and black indentation on the dorsal pattern, on the other hand, vissual stripes with wavy patterns commonly overlapped causing the dorsal stripe to connect on each other side. see image below. Dragons on the image are clutchmate and you can tell which is which.

✅Some of the Normal scale genetic stripe dragons are more difficult to id when they reach sub adult to adult stage since the elevation of the scales may vissually alter the clear lines on the dorsal pattern. Better to have a hatchling pic to prove that it's a GS since you can easily determine the lines when they are in this stage of life, or better to buy on a trusted breeder that produces genetic stripe dragons.

✅It varies depending on the quality, I also produce some hatchlings that has a prominent clear racing stripes that also tend to have a minimal dots pattern inside the dorsal stripe, but it doesn't mean that its not a true GS, as long as the stripes are uniform and clear and not wavy its a GS.

Hopefully this information will help us a lot in identifying a TRUE GENETIC STRIPES to a VISSUAL STRIPES
