Poor Toby, our adorable Husky patient, came in feeling really unwell due to Canine Coronavirus Infection and Giardiasis—two nasty infections that can cause severe diarrhea, vomiting, and even hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE) in dogs. 💔🐶

Here’s what pet owners need to know:
🦠 Canine Coronavirus (CCV) – A contagious virus that affects the intestines, leading to diarrhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite. Puppies and unvaccinated dogs are at higher risk.
🦠 Giardiasis – A parasite that infects the intestines, causing watery, foul-smelling diarrhea, weight loss, and dehydration. It spreads through contaminated water, food, or surfaces.

What can you do to protect your pets?

Your bathroom is full of everyday essentials—but for pets, it can be a danger zone! From medications to cleaning supplies, a curious sniff or accidental lick can lead to poisoning, burns, or even life-threatening conditions. Here’s what to watch out for:

🛑 Medications – Painkillers like ibuprofen and paracetamol, antidepressants, and even cold medicine can cause stomach ulcers, liver damage, seizures, or worse. Just one pill can be toxic!

🛑 Topical Creams & Ointments – Pain relief gels, antifungal creams, and steroid ointments may seem harmless, but if licked, they can cause digestive issues, hormone imbalances, or poisoning.

🛑 Cleaning Products – Bleach, toilet bowl cleaners, and drain unblockers contain harsh chemicals that can burn your pet’s mouth and throat, leading to vomiting, breathing issues, or severe organ damage.

🛑 Bath & Beauty Products – Shampoos, lotions, perfumes, and essential oils may smell nice to us, but they can be toxic to pets—causing drooling, vomiting, tremors, or even alcohol poisoning.
