❗️STOP KILLING BLACK CATS❗️

On our daily service, it has become my habit to ask our clients about their personal reason/s in choosing to have their pets neutered. Today, I met a client who shared her personal reason that really broke my heart.

Her cat was killed by the village people a month ago just because of its color - a black cat.

She was in-heat and managed to escape the house, unidentified people found her in the street and hit her multiple times by a rod and stoned her to death. Her owner found her with broken bones and almost unrecognizable face. She’s just 8-month old.

Because of what happened, despite of lacking in finances, the owner wasted no time and booked a schedule with us to neuter her cats with the hope that they will not escape and experience the same unfortunate event.

Today’s post is a strong reminder that there is no color, breed or characteristic that will make an animal a bad luck. A narrow and abusive mind towards animals is what brings you misfortune and makes you a bad luck not only to animals but also to people around you.

As you may already know if you watched our FB live earlier, our TNVR Director Ms. Rina Ortiz is celebrating her birthday soon. And as a treat, 1,000 male cats are invited for a free kapon on Friday, June 24th here at the PPBCC neuter clinic in Mandaluyong.

More than the free kapon, it is our aim that through this project we bring awareness to the importance of neutering in eradicating rabies and addressing animal homelessness.

‼️ Important details. Please read. ‼️

1. Free kapon is open to male cats only.
2. There is no limit to the number of male cats that can be registered per person.
3. We have limited parking space, please bring a companion with you when you come via a private vehicle for quick drop off and to avoid congestion.
4. Please make sure to pre-register online and properly sign the consent and waiver forms. You will need to present these upon your arrival to ensure a smooth and quick registration process.
5. Kapon will be done at our neuter clinic at 873 Katarungan St., Brgy. Plainview, Mandaluyong City.
⁣6. Free kapon does not include additional services such as lab tests and medications.

1ST LOW COST KAPON EVENT
Some of our photos during the event. Our heart is full to see furparents and their furbabies in this event! Ang sarap mapakinggan yung stories of the furparents kung gaano sila pinapatawa, nilalambing at kinukulit ng mga alaga nila. Ang sarap makita how each one of our parents are so reluctant to leave their furbabies behind dahil sa sobrang love nila ito, ayaw mapahiwalay. This is more than being a reponsible pet owner, this is making their pets part of them and their family!

Our very 1st Low Cost Kapon was a success! Thank you Doc Gab - Home Service Veterinarian for your service! Thank you officers and volunteers for your time and effort to make this event running and organized.
And to all furparents, thank you! We look forward to another event/s in the coming months, we hope to see you again.

Villa San Mateo 2 : Community-Driven Neuter Activity 💛

About 20 pets were catered by our team for our Low-Cost Mass Neuter event in Rizal.

Spearheaded by a newly developed pro-animal welfare group that was developed just last month, but the activity went well and smooth.

REMINDERS po uli mga furparents na magpapakapon on Sunday, MAY 29.
1. Monitor pet's health. No cough, colds, vomiting, diarrhea or lack of appetite
2. 6-12hrs fasting bago ang surgery. No food and water beyond 12midnight
3. Prepare a cone or surgery suit (lalo na sa mga female cats and male dogs)
4. Prepare a secure cage para sa pag transport and pag recover ng pets after the surgery. Its best to have 1 carrier/cage per pet.
5. Drop off lang po tyo ng mga pets sa event. We will text you kapag ready na for pick up mga furbabies nyo, kaya make sure po you give us a mobile number that is active.

Keeping Your Animal Companions Safe During Holy Week

1. Plan for your companion animals' needs before leaving for vacation

If you're travelling for the long weekend, make sure that your furbabies' needs are taken care of before you leave. Whether it's entrusting them with a family member, boarding them at an animal facility, or getting a sitter to care for them, plan ahead and leave them with plenty of food, prepare their medication if they have any, and have your veterinarian's number ready in case of emergencies.

2. Keep chocolates out of your furbabies' reach

Stocking up on chocolates for Easter Sunday? Yum! But be extra careful not to leave any lying around where your furbabies can easily reach them. Chocolates are highly toxic to cats and dogs and any amount ingested can lead to health problems from vomiting, diarrhea, abnormal heart rhythm to extreme cases like seizure, collapse, or death.

3. Know where to go in case of an emergency

Identify veterinary clinics that are located near you and find out whether or not they will be open during the Holy Week. If there are no available clinics near you, keep your veterinarian's number ready or prepare a list of first-aid treatment.

During the Holy Week, PPBCC Hospital will remain open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm to serve you.
