The same procedures are used for typical hamster care work when caring for a Roborovski hamster. You'll need to give your pet a nutritious diet, toys, safe bedding, and plenty of activities in addition to a proper cage with an area for exploration.

Enrichment, or how you keep your pet amused while in confinement, is a crucial component of hamster rearing. To prevent boredom, various toys should be available, and opportunities for movement are essential. Good examples of this include biting toys and climbing frames.

Being delicate, they require special handling when being picked up and placed down. Keep in mind that these hamsters are very little, so avoid buying a cage with any significant holes or gaps between the metal bars. They can slip through even the tiniest openings!

Male Roborovski hamsters typically remain viable for the majority of their lives, whereas females frequently become sterile at roughly 24 months of age.

It takes roborovski hamsters between 23 and 30 days to gestate. The newborns resemble pink beans when they are first born. The skin may begin to color at roughly 5 to 6 days, and hair may start to grow at 6 to 8 days. The newborns' short fur and developing eyelids are present by 10 to 12 days. The infants may also begin to explore their cage at this point, despite the fact that they are still blind.

The female will typically gather the stray young and bring them back to the nest; while the young may squeal during this process, it is usually nothing to be concerned about. The eyes open and the infants are completely coated in fur by 14 to 16 days of age.
