Did you know that these large, narrow fish are well-adapted to move between aquatic plants. Sometimes known as the “vegetarian piranha,” the red-bellied pacu has square, straighter teeth like those of humans, which are primarily used to cut through vegetation in the water.

Most danios tolerate a wide range of water chemistry and temperature, making them ideal beginner fish. pH should be between 7.0 and 7.8, alkalinity between 3° and 8° dkH (50 ppm to 140 ppm) and temperature between 70° and 78° F.
