REDEMPTION And VENUE

"During a weekend in Anilao, south of Manila in the Philippines, I met Maya, a quiet six year old dog that limped to my dinner table. We inquired with the scuba resort staff and they said she got hit by a scooter two weeks back.

I offered to cover costs if we could take her to the vet. Thankfully, I was able to go the next morning with Mang Maning, whom the dog most trusts.

At the veterinarian, we discovered that the fracture in her leg was just one issue. Poor Maya has a ‘transmissible venereal tumor ‘ and ‘pyometra’ an infected uterus that poses a danger to her life. She requires surgery.

That day I paid for her antibiotics, dewormer, vitamins and tick medication. But to take care of her leg and infection, another six visit will be required and much more money."
