RABIES is REAL!

A patient of ours was tested positive for rabies showing the following symptoms: acute behavioral changes and unexplained progressive paralysis, agitation and hypersalivation.

Rabies is a fatal disease transmitted from animals to humans. This virus is present in the saliva of a rabid animal and is transmitted primarily by animal bites and rarely by contamination of open wounds, fresh abrasions or mucous membranes.

Rabies is FATAL once clinical signs appear but is entirely avoidable.

Please have your pets vaccinated against Rabies as required by the law.

NO TO SELF MEDICATION ‼️

A 3-month-old, 6 kg patient came into the clinic with a primary complaint of abdomen distention for 5 days. Owner confirms self medication using Vetracin, SMP 500 and Agmentin.

Abdominal paracentecis was conducted to evacuate ascitic fluid together with full blood test to check for infection, anemia, liver and kidney function. Patient’s weight went down from 6kg to 4.2 kg after the procedure. Additional treatment and medications was given to the patient.
