WHAT IS RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP?

Before owning a pet, one should always consider if one has the capacity (time-wise, financially, emotionally) to care for it responsibly for its entire lifetime, not just when it is a cute puppy.

1. Do your research. Make sure that you choose a pet that is suited to your home and lifestyle.

2. Financial responsibility. Be prepared of the financial responsibility in owning a pet. Recognize that pet ownership requires investment of time and money.

3. Keep your pet health and happy. Reach out to your veterinarian to protect the health of your pets by giving them regular check-up, vaccinations, and parasite control.

4. Be responsible. Clean up after your pet, obey local ordinances, and don't allow your pet to stray.

As we celebrate World Rabies Day on September 28, we remind everyone to be responsible owners of your pets.
