🐾 Spay in Dogs🐾
Pyometra or Pyometritis is the infection in the uterus (womb) of a female dog. It is caused by hormonal changes in the body that fill the uterus with pus.
Bubbles, a 6-year-old dog that came to our clinic showing signs of bloody and purulent vaginal discharge. Upon further investigation, we discovered that the dog had been diagnosed with pyometra last November 2022,. Upon conducting series of laboratory test , Bubbles was diagnosed with Open Pyometritis thus we performed an ovario-hysterectomy or removal of uterus. Also, the patient was found to be positive with 3 blood parasites namely: Ehrlichiosis, Babesiosis and Anaplasmosis.
We're relieved to share that the surgery was successful, and the bubbly Bubbles is now home with her furparents currently on the road to recovery .
