The separation of Malinois from work & show lines started in France in the late 1960s.

In 1962 Bernadette Auriant attended an agricultural fair in Versailles, where she acquired her first Malinois with papers, the then 4-month-old bitch "Lassie du Val d'Orge. She was a sister of the last black shorthair "Loir du Val d'Orge".

In 1964 the foundation stone of the famous kennel "du Mas des Lavandes" began with "Lassie du Val d'Orge" and "Midas des Bonmoss". From this first litter comes "Nelko du Mas des Lavandes", the first Malinois to win the Championat de France en Ring 1969.

Many further successes followed both in performance and later especially in the area of the show in which Ms. Auriante skillfully combined Belgian and French dogs.

At the end of the 1960s, the contrast between working dogs and dogs for the exhibition grew, specialization between the two different camps was inevitable, it was the time of dogs like Mulot, Mistral, Nelko.

This was the beginning of a triumphal march of the Malinois in France that is still unstoppable ...
