Shadow, a male intact Belgian Malinoise, was brought to our clinic due to a deep wound on his neck. The owners failed to loosen his collar as he become bigger, causing him to grow into it.

He was in so much pain that we had to anesthetize him in order to cut the two types of rope that were tied around his neck. His wounds were then closed and disinfected thoroughly.

This incident can be easily prevented by buying an appropriate collar based on your dog's size and strength, as well as regularly checking and adjusting the collar.

May this be a reminder to all of us, furparents, to be more responsible when caring for our dogs. They do not have to endure this kind of pain.

This is Jaz, an 8 year old, male, intact Golden Retriever. He was brought to us because of a lump on his toe that has rapidly grown in size over the course of a year.

When he was walking, he would step over that lump leaving blood stains all over the floor. The affected toe is also hard on palpation relative to the adjacent toes.

Our veterinarian decided to perform an amputation of the 2nd digit of Jaz's right paw to prevent the lump from growing and worse cause even more severe complications to the affected toe. The lump was then sent out for histopathology.

Jaz's caretaker shared that his surgical wound has already healed and he is now back to walking as if a toe isn't missing 😅

This case is about Fendi, a 1 year and 5 month old dog brought to the clinic because her owner noticed that she has a brownish colored urine similar to that of an iced tea. She was also observed to have dribbling urination occasionally.

Blood work was done (CBC, biochemistry) as well as an ultrasound examination and radiography to name a few. Sadly, Fendi was found to have a stone inside her urinary bladder.

Our veterinarian decided that the best treatment option for Fendi aside from her medications and diet modification is to surgically remove her urinary bladder stone. Cystotomy was performed and just a week after her stitches were removed, Fendi has now gone back to her normal healthy state.

Urinary bladder stone formation is a very common condition in pets. A lot of factors contribute to how those stones came about and its presence have some serious effects on your pets overall health. Come and visit our clinic now for your pet related concerns.

This puppy was brought to our clinic for a skin check-up. He smelled bad and was scratching and itching very frequently as per owner. On presentation, he has multiple areas of hair loss particularly on his face with skin redness and crusting.

Our veterinarian performed a skin scraping of the affected skin and found that this poor puppy had Demodex mites! His condition is called Demodectic mange or Demodicosis.

These mites live in the hair follicles of dogs. Clinical signs begin with multiple areas of hair loss, scaling, and redness. These small areas get larger and progress to affect the entire body, causing severe irritation of the skin. Secondarily, severe bacterial infections commonly occur as a result of the demodicosis.

This puppy (after photo not attached) have already recovered from his skin condition thanks to proper assessment backed with laboratory tests.
