Before the month of love ends, we would like to share 2 rescue stories who are in dire need of care and a loving home.
Winter was rushed to the clinic, one Friday night, in need of emergency surgery to remove a stillborn kitten stuck in her birth canal. She was hypothermic and appeared to be going into septic shock upon presentation. On top of that, she had a bad case of respiratory tract infection, making her recovery, a steeper climb.
Our prayers were answered, and Winter is now fully recovered and it is our hope that she finds a furever home.
Trina and Feliz, mama dog and puppy, were living in a quarry before they were rescued. Trinaโs left hindlimb was broken, with the leg bone protruding and dangling; while Feliz, her pup, was thin and flea-infested. Trina is severely anemic, heartworm-positive, but needs hindlimb amputation.
We are slowly nursing Trina back to health in preparation for the surgery. Feliz, on the other hand, is gaining weight and has already been given her first dose of vaccine.
Winter, Trina and Feliz are rescues by @strayLovePH. To those who wish to donate to their medical fund, you can contact them through their FB and IG page.

Our treatment while they are confined here in our clinic not only includes medications, but lots of TLC! We firmly believe that regular and positive interaction with confined patients help them recover faster. Itโs also the reason why we encourage owners to visit their furbabies during hospitalization, to help manage the stress of being sick and staying in a stressful, new environment.
And as soon as they are strong enough, we make sure to play with them! Hereโs little Cholo playing with Doc Sid after recovering from Parvoviral infection.

Chunky's journey as a blood donor ๐ฉธ
Yes! Your dogs can save lives by donating their blood to those in need.
Prior to donating, screening will be done to assess if your pet is fit to be a blood donor. Complete blood count, 4-way test and crossmatching are done to check if a dog can donate blood.
Most dogs need to be sedated for us to properly and aseptically collect blood. A blood bag is usually filled up in 5-10 minutes.
After the blood donation, lots of TLC (and maybe some chimken!) for the hero doggo!

But before making that decision, make sure to consider whether or not the recipient truly wants, and is ready, to own a pet!๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝOwning a pet is a LIFETIME RESPONSIBILITY & COMMITMENT. It not only entails providing a loving home with basic needs such as food and water, but having a pet requires resources such as:
- toys, bedding and other pet supplies
- time and energy for walking, exercise, play and training
- veterinary care
If your loved one can provide the above-mentioned resources, then prepare yourselves to the joy and warmth a pet can bring to your life. If no, then you might consider visiting a shelter, or serve as a foster home first. You can also think about adopting, instead of buying!
Remember that pets need our utmost care for the rest of their lives, not just when they are cute and cuddly!
