Working Dogs

Working Dogs We are passionate breeders of the "old-style" working German Shepherd dog from the former East Germany (DDR) and Czech Republic.
(1)

As responsible GS breeders, our goal is to improve the "old-style" German Shepherd breed that Captain Max von Stephanitz started. We choose the best bloodlines from East German Shepherds (DDR) and Czech Republic to produce versatile working dogs. Through our breeding program, our dogs have excellent temperaments, rock solid nerves, healthy hips and elbows, and have the drive to work.

What do people need to know to believe in Christ?

After he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. (Acts 16:30–32)

No doubt having first made sure the other prisoners were secure, the jailer brought Paul and Silas out into the courtyard. There he asked the question that was burning in his heart, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Some have interpreted his question in terms of being saved from punishment, but that is not the case. Since no prisoners had escaped, he faced no punishment from his superiors. And why ask two prisoners such a question? The jailer’s question expressed the deep longing of his heart to be right with God. Having undoubtedly heard the testimony of the demon-possessed girl (v. 17), either in person or from others, he believed Paul and Silas had the answer.

To the jailer’s simple and direct question the missionaries gave an equally simple and direct answer: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved.” Unlike the rich young ruler (Luke 18:18–23), his heart was ready; nothing stood in his way.

The truth that salvation is wholly by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ permeates the Scriptures. “There is salvation in no one else,” according to Acts 4:12, “for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved.” That glorious truth was at the heart of apostolic preaching (see also Acts 2:38–39; 5:14; 8:12). Jesus Himself declared, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6). It is also the constant theme of the epistles (cf. Rom. 3:20–25; 5:1; 1 Cor. 6:11; Gal. 2:16; 3:24; Eph. 2:8–9).

To believe in the Lord Jesus means first to believe He is who He claimed to be. The apostle John wrote, “These have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31). Second, it means to believe in what He did. Paul succinctly summarized the work of Christ in 1 Corinthians 15:3–4:

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

To the Romans he wrote:

If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Rom. 10:9–10)

The message of salvation was preached not to the jailer alone but also to the rest of his household. Accordingly, the two missionaries spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. His family, servants, and perhaps relatives or guests who were staying with him all heard the gospel (cf. v. 15; Acts 11:14; 18:8). That the others in the jailer’s household individually believed the gospel becomes clear in v. 34 (cf. Acts 10:44).

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27: 46; Mark 15: 34).

Why would God forsake His only begotten Son? What did Jesus mean when He cried out these words?

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” found in both Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34, “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?’ Forsake means to turn away from or withdraw from. Why would God do that to his own son?

"Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit."
(John 19:30)

Of the last sayings of Christ on the cross, none is more important or more poignant than, “It is finished.” Found only in the Gospel of John, the Greek word translated “it is finished” is tetelestai, an accounting term that means “paid in full.” When Jesus uttered those words, He was declaring the debt owed to His Father was wiped away completely and forever. Not that Jesus wiped away any debt that He owed to the Father; rather, Jesus eliminated the debt owed by mankind—the debt of sin.

Just prior to His arrest by the Romans, Jesus prayed His last public prayer, asking the Father to glorify Him, just as Jesus had glorified the Father on earth, having “finished the work you have given me to do” (John 17:4). The work Jesus was sent to do was to “seek and save that which is lost” (Luke 19:10), to provide atonement for the sins of all who would ever believe in Him (Romans 3:23-25), and to reconcile sinful men to a holy God. “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). None other but God in the flesh could accomplish such a task.

Also completed was the fulfillment of all Old Testament prophecies, symbols, and foreshadowings of the coming Messiah. From Genesis to Malachi, there are over 300 specific prophecies detailing the coming of the Anointed One, all fulfilled by Jesus. From the “seed” who would crush the serpent’s head (Genesis 3:15), to the Suffering Servant of Isaiah 53, to the prediction of the “messenger” of the Lord (John the Baptist) who would “prepare the way” for the Messiah, all prophecies of Jesus’ life, ministry, and death were fulfilled and finished at the cross.

Although the redemption of mankind is the most important finished task, many other things were finished at the cross. The sufferings Jesus endured while on the earth, and especially in His last hours, were at last over. God’s will for Jesus was accomplished in His perfect obedience to the Father (John 5:30; 6:38). Most importantly, the power of sin and Satan was finished. No longer would mankind have to suffer the “flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16). By raising the “shield of faith” in the One who completed the work of redemption and salvation, we can, by faith, live as new creations in Christ. Jesus’ finished work on the cross was the beginning of new life for all who were once “dead in trespasses and sins” but who are now made “alive with Christ” (Ephesians 2:1, 5).

Dogs That Save Lives | K9 Mounties S1 EP1 | Wonder

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has been using K-9s since 1935. And their preferred breed is the German Shepherd. They are natural hunters, smart, loyal, even-tempered and courageous. They are physically perfect for the challenges of the job in a country where the temperatures range from hot and humid in the summer, to brutally cold in the winter. And they are powerful, with significant bite-power, making them perfect for catching the bad guys. In 1999, they started their own breeding program. And through selective breeding, their success rate has increased over the years. This is a series of videos featuring the K-9 Mounties of the RCMP-- from selective breeding, puppy selection, imprinting, training and field deployment.

K-9 units responding to a bomb threat at Santa Barbara, California.

Sheriff’s Bomb Squad Investigates Bomb Threat and Suspicious Package at County Administrative Building

At approximately 10:40 a.m. this morning, April 17, 2019, Sheriff’s deputies and Santa Barbara Police officers responded to a report of a bomb threat at the Santa Barbara County Administrative Office Building located in the 100 block of East Anapamu St. in downtown Santa Barbara. An investigation is underway by the Santa Barbara Police Department to identify and locate the person who called 911 and made the threat.

The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was notified and County employees in the building were instructed to search their area for any suspicious items. A package was located on the first floor during the search. The decision was made to evacuate the building and surrounding area. Streets surrounding the County Building in the busy downtown Santa Barbara area were blocked off and traffic was diverted away from the County Building.

The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad arrived and determined the package was uninvolved and was not a threat. A team of three specialty trained bomb detection K9 teams were brought in to search the building and adjacent parking lot. The K9 teams included, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Police Department and Cal State San Bernardino Police Department. The K9 teams were attending regional training in Ventura County and were able to quickly respond and assist. No items were located during the search and at approximately 2:15 p.m. the evacuation was lifted and the building was reoccupied.

The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad is the only public safety Bomb Squad in Santa Barbara County. The squad serves the entire county and all law enforcement jurisdictions at no charge to any requesting agency. The Sheriff’s Bomb Squad provides expert explosive and bomb disposal response 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.

VA-Bernd vom Lierberg, SchH3 FH KKL1, SZ1026193. One of the famous “B”-litter “vom Lierberg”, which was repeated three times (“D-litter, “F”-litter, and “G”-litter). Bernd, born on March 16,1962, was VA in 1967, along with his brother Bodo. According to Willis, he seemed to have been the better producer than Bodo, although he only had one VA-offspring. He is described as balanced, over-medium size (64 cm) and has a good topline. He is noted to have produced excellent temperament and trainability, the color black, but also cryptorchidism. It should also be noted that, unlike his sire Vello and his half-brother Jalk, Bernd and his brother Bodo both had their hips a-stamped (as the SV started hip screening in the early 60s).
