This year, the staff of CityVets - Taguig brings you a 3D Star Parol with the image of our beloved pets — our cats and dogs. Using purely recyclable materials from our suppliers ( box from bottled meds, spot on, tick & flea, heartworm preventives, vials and rotors.), collective efforts of each and every staff member of the clinic and the inspiration from our patients and clients. Our parol sports the color of our clinic logo — the green cat and blue dog. The color used for the pinkish red star is from the extracted rolled crepe paper and left over glitters for the sparkles. Boxes from our suppliers were used as the base of the star. Lights are from the Christmas light used in the clinic for several years now. Sustainability? Yes! Cost? Zero!

May our parol brings light and warmth on your holidays and inspires everyone to be sustainable even in our Christmas decoration. Merry Christmas, Everypawdy! ✨

BITING/CHEWING LOUSE (Trichodectes canis)

Chewing louse chews, bites and feeds on debris on hair shaft and skin of dogs and may cause severe itching and irritation.

It is transmitted through direct contact with another infested dog. Dogs in poor health can become heavily infested. Trichodectes canis can serve as an intermediate host for intestinal tapeworms.💡

In severe louse infestations, the dog may damage its skin by scratching. Bacterial infections and scratch wounds are common. If these conditions are present, your veterinarian may prescribe an antibiotic or other medication. Your veterinarian will also treat any other nutritional or health issues.

In addition to killing the lice on your pet, you will want to be sure that lice are not infesting your dog’s bedding, collar, grooming tools (including brushes or combs), and other similar objects in your dog’s environment. Bedding should be washed frequently in hot, soapy water or treated with an appropriate spray until the infestation is controlled. Careful cleaning and inspection of these objects can help provide your pet with continued relief from the irritation caused by lice.
