Incubator no 3 few eggs that were not growing or developing so good still fertile and looking okay ?

Some times eggs that are not developing so well or a little slowly we isolate the eggs just for monitoring!
Incubator no 4 test run after overhaul looking okay so far after lots of gremlins !
Hatcher no 1 cleaned disinfectant and ready for a busy few weeks👍
After installing the new fans and misters things seem to be going well as breeding and egg production is a lot better then last year
Still getting asked about price lists and to post them at D&R birds we price too sell we don’t follow trends so it is what it is 👍
AGP no one requests still not producing greys on a regular basis and the very few we do breed are reserved ? Hoping all our greys will improve soon getting lots of eggs so the girls are fine, fertility is still not great so our boys need a little more time ?
We are focusing a lot more towards the pet bird market as it seems to be growing well ! Here in the Philippines 👍we also hand-rear for futer breeders this is achieved by group housing with minimal interaction ( feed sleep & grow) as for the pet companion bird same principles (feed sleep & grow) but with a lot more human interaction more offtern than not baby is already talking a weaning stage.
Once again we do not have resellers at D&R birds its always buy direct or not at all.
Freighting hand reared birds ( we can if needed be ,so far all our babies are sold locally but we can move to different areas with all the appropriate paperwork)

Incubators
If your going to buy the cheapest thing you can find your asking for trouble!
Sure we have cheap incubators 100% we do they are used as back ups Hatchers even brooders for the chicks first few days👍
Our expensive eggs go into the more up market units reliable incubators!
Surprising how many spend big money on birds and nothing on the equipment?

So many things can and do go wrong !
Breeding or keeping any animal properly is not easy!
From health ,housing ,$$$$
We choose to do it our way like many other choose to do it his or her way!
Sickness here in the Philippines is a constant struggle ( so we choose to keep our birds in a semi closed in environment) yesterday a breeder brought over a dead bird not sure why we are not a veterinary clinic! After hearing how the bird died and symptoms it’s not good not good at all ( 100% deadly and easily spread and known to wipe out whole collections) we are now taking every precaution to guard our own flock ? We are still breeding and running as normal but quarantine measures are back in full swing here anyway!

Market place with birds?
Myself
I own a small a small collection of high end birds in Australia!
I also own a medium size collection in Thailand!
Both in Australia and Thailand I rely heavily on my birdo partners to have such good friends is truly a privilege 👍
Here in Cebu Philippines we own a medium size collection ( modest at best)
Market difference!
Again only what I see and my thought alone!
Thailand also Australia has a very strong pet market
Being high end middle and low end so what ever you seem to own you tend to move relatively easy👍
Here in Cebu it is very different NO MIDDLE market
And it’s very hard or slow going at best?
How could you address such an issue? Again my thoughts and mine alone!
1/ create interest grow your industries.
2/ work with departments like DENR ( to have birds under permits like parakeets zebras ALB’s) only creates a so called black market?
100% NEBRS DENR are needing in helping and controlling the bird industry as a whole 👍
3/ spending your money wisely ( for sure invest what intrest you but tread carefully) like any industry greed $$$ of the dollar $$$ is wide spread here and all other countries.
4/ look for diffrent avenues branch out ( we target foreigners and are leaning towards the pet trade)
5/ more exhibits they work and they create interest !
Just a few thoughts inside my head thats all 😂

We like 39/42 degrees as a rule seems to work well👍

Hand rearing chicks from the egg !
It can be a nightmare in getting the new borns digestive system functioning from day one?
Handy little tip and is inexpensive easy to make is papaya seeds and papaya skin ( it must be ripe ) blended together.
Slow crop movement or static crop happens regularly with new borns and this helps a lot either on its own or blended with your hand rearing mix since a fellow breeder showed me this in Thailand most hand rearing problems with new borns have vanished completely 👍
