Patient of 'd day: Duchess

💉5-in-1 vaccine and complete deworming done

Duchess is a parvo survivor who had vomiting, bloody diarrhea, inappetence and was severely emaciated. Owner brought her in for a check up. Her signs were consistent with parvoviral infection and was treated as such. There is NO TREATMENT for parvo, and recovery depends on the patient's response to supportive therapy.

That was 2 months ago. Now, 7 months old, Duchess has completed her deworming and is about to finish her 5-in-1 booster shot.

Kudos to sir for patiently taking care of duchess👏👏

🐶🐕Follow-up Mange treatment done

Both furbabies had red and irritated skin. They were both constantly scratching which lead to hair loss. Possible skin disease was demodectic mange caused by a skin parasite which can be contracted between dogs through direct contact.
With their worsening skin condition already lasting almost a month, owners agreed to an all-out treatment. After 1 month, the 2 dogs were brought back for a follow-up. They both showed favorable improvement with their conditions.

Case in spotlight:
Elly, a 4 month old Labrador, experienced progressive paralysis from her front limbs until it reached her lower torso. Her limbs and facial muscles were stiff. After some lab works and further observation in a clinic, she was brought back home. With treatment and loving care from her furfamily, she was able to walk and was back to her normal self as if nothing happened.

Prior to her paralysis, she had wounds underneath her paw pads which were hard to notice. Owners suspected the wounds were caused by the rough flooring in her cage. Differential diagnosis was tetanus. Upon treatment, thankfully, elly responded well to the medication.

If left untreated, minor wounds, even scrapes, can become infected and cause severe problems.

Have your pets checked regularly.
