"Salty Boots are Never Dry"

by 24 MC

Marines of MBLT-4 being a MARSEC capable Battalion are always in the thick of action—whether in the conduct of patrolling the through vast, unpredictable seas of Tawi-Tawi, engaging in intensive training exercises on the shoreline, or aiding local communities in coastal cleanups and humanitarian missions. Our boots are a testament to the relentless readiness and dedication that define our service. Constantly navigating through waterlogged terrains, enduring unpredictable weather, and standing as sentinels of maritime security means those boots rarely get a moment's respite from the salty brine. They are, in essence, a symbol of the unyielding spirit of a Philippine Marines.

The presence of MBLT-4 is felt not just in their maritime patrols but also in their engagement with the community. Regular interactions from aiding local fishermen to participating educational outreach and medical missions, create a bond of trust and mutual respect. These actions showcase our commitment in protecting the interests of the Filipino people. Moreover, the Marsec Battalion's cooperation with other agencies, such as the Philippine National Police and the Local Government Units further strengthens maritime security efforts. Working alongside each other, this enables us to create a formidable presence, ensuring that illegal activities are thwarted and that the community's safety is maintained. This interagency cooperation not only enhances operational efficiency but it also fosters a sense of unity and shared purpose in protecting the nation's maritime interests.

That’s why we don’t let our salty boots dry, as we are committed in our mandates to serve and protect the Filipino people by all available means and ways. Being in our wet boots means we are actively accomplishing our daily missions. Most importantly, as marines, it is a way of maintaining our highest sense of military professionalism and commitment to service. Whatever it takes us to do our job is nothing compared to will to act and sacrifice ourselves for the country.

The Marine Battalion Landing Team-4 is operationally capable under the designation as the first Maritime Security (MARSEC) Battalion of the Philippine Marine Corps.

Amidst the increasing external threats and border disputes, the Marine Battalion Landing Team-4 will commit to its new mission of securing the country’s Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) as a part of the greater mission of the Philippine Marine Corps.

The unit’s transformation demonstrates the PMC’s adaptability and readiness to conduct maritime operations and littoral maneuvers in the southwestern frontier of archipelagic defense.
